What's Your Favorite Video Game?

Hey everybody,

I recently caught a few ads on Spike TV for their upcoming Video Game Awards (it airs Dec. 14th but I'm not sure what time, check out their website if you want) and thought to start this thread to see who everyone thinks should win the award for game of the year. Maybe we could tally up the replies here and then compare them to which game actually wins that night? It might be cool too to send these results to Spike TV after we're done, especially if our favorites aren't on their list. So I'm going to dig around and try to find a way to contact them too.

Here's this year's choices from Spike's website (if you don't agree, just put down your favorite):

Burnout 3: Takedown (Electronic Arts)
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (Rockstar Games)
Half-Life 2 (Vivendi Universal Games)
Halo 2 (Microsoft Game Studios)
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (Konami)

Also, what's your all-time favorite? (I'm predicting Super Mario Brothers and CS will top the list here.)

I would have to say that I like The Sims 2 and Havest Moon: FoMT and AWL.

Out of Spike's list I'd have to go with Metal Gear Solid 3 then Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

I would have to say Final Fantasy VIII is my all time favourite, based on the fact that it takes me back to the old days. But I certainly have many other faves:

To easy ;), resident evil. I've collected every resident evil that's came out on the gamecube, i'm also getting the 4th one very soon to finish my collection and i have alot of souvenirs and such for resident evil, i also have a website for it. I dunno, i just love everything about the games, i'm just a bit of a fanatic over it, but if no one really enjoys it here i'll try to hold it in :rolleyes:

1) Chrono Cross.
2) Freespace 1&2.
3) MGS series.
4) This one's a little more obscure: Soldiers: Heroes of WWII.

5) John Deere American Farmer.

Hi, next to the sims 2 i prefer RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 and the spectacular Adventure Gothic 1 and 2.
Spellforce also was fun.

I don´t like Shooters, i´m a adventure-simulation-strategy-guy :)

From the list, it would be a tough call between Half-Life 2 and (the PC version of) San Andreas. Resident Evil 4 would be right up there too, and perhaps Liberty City Stories as well.

My favorite game of all-time? Deus Ex. Nothing else has ever come close.
