You do not need a credit card to play the Sims 2. It is not a pay-to-play game. It's not like EQ or World of Warcraft. You buy the game; you play it.

Unless of course you are talking about The Sims Online, in which case you are on the wrong forums, this forum is about The Sims 2

In addition to what Rowanstaff just said, to download The Sims 2 without paying... heck, to download it from anywhere, even if you pay... is illegal, because EA does not warrant such downloads, whether you're paying for it or not. It's piracy, and I don't believe (I could be wrong!) that this site endorses such activity.

Furthermore, even if you were able to download it from somewhere, I doubt that it would be of any great use to you. The CD is required to play the game..
