Strange graphics issue

First of all:

1) AMD Athalon 800 MHz
2) 579 MB RAM
3) 14.7 GB Free Hard Disk Space
4) 37.2 GB Total Hard Disk Space
5) NVIDIA GeForce 4 Mx440
6) 6.1.77, also tried newest one
7) DirectX Version 9c
8) Windows XP - Pro
9) Sims 2 CD

I have had Sims 2 since it came out, and it's been running without any problems. I put in an FX5600 video card yesterday, determined the card didn't work (it was defective), so I reinstalled the GF4. Went into S2 to play. Certain graphics are plain white (i.e. stairs, chimneys, window frames, mailboxes, streetlights, columns, & other outside items). Certain inside items are very bright and lacking details. I manually uninstalled and reinstalled the game, to no avail. I even rolled back drivers and have tried many different combinations of things. Any expertise would help!!!
