Isn't a Eulogy something that a person says when a person died?

To be euologistic (I notice that I spelt it wrongly) is to be enthusiastic, or praising. A Eulogy is, generally, said after death, praising all the good points of the deceased - not being honest! Commendation means commending, or recommending, the article. The res veditia is the thing sold. So tell them what a good thing it is and you (might) sell it. That is a book for first year students - it is incredible that it has what appears to me to be a difficult sentence very early in the book. I don't suppose that it appears that any more - we call it 'dumbing down' - or was that an American expression?
When I die I am sure that people will be quite honest because, after all, no-one knows me so they can be as rude as they like - it bothers no-one. Still, if no-one knows me, then no-one will comment at all - will they.

heh I wasn't sure what res vendita was.. but I guessed it had to do with vending/vendors....

This was in a book for first year students... um... first year of WHAT? I'm guessing NOT First Grade... i.e. 6 year old kids starting school for the first time! :D First year High School (14 years old) or College (18-19 years old) maybe? It's a cute comment! :D
