Here is another one (http://mikeinside.illusionfxnet.com/sims2/). This page also has info on how to do bridges and a few other things. I found it pretty helpful actually

i read the tutorial on how to make the island. but on my community lot, it will only let me make an "L" am I doing something wrong???
sorry i should of said i was trying to make an island in the middle of my pool :o
