how do i add the sims downloaded objects to the sims 2?

hi who ever is reading this thread:

i was wondering if it was possible to add downloaded objects from the sims to the sims 2,cuz i have a rejuvinator bath tub and it comes really in handy at times,but i dont see how it could be added cuz they changed everything since the sims,in the sims it was much easyer "just download,and put it in the download objects,and presto the object would appear" but now its harder to add stuff,plaese someone help me out here.

Objects made for the original sims are completely incompatible with the new version.

There are two threads immediately below this one that cover the simple process of installing downloads. If anything adding downloads to The Sims 2 is much easier than with the original sims games.
