Hello,
I cannot afford to purchase the guide at this time. I was given the Sims 2 & Univ as a gift, and I am having some trouble learning how to play. I am quite new to the Sims.
What are some tips on getting my wants, ridding my fears, achieving aspirations, etc. I know I can get cooking points from reading a book, but how do I get creative points and the like?

Well.
Creative: Painting, Play instrument, writing story
Mechanical: Fixing Somthing, Bookcase
Logic: telescope, chess board
cleaning: bookcase.
cooking: bookcase, t.v. (The Yummy Channel)
Also career awards will also raise one of these depending on Job. To get one of these rewards you must get to a certain level (get certain amount of promotions) Then when you click on the little tresure box you can find it.
To keep interest in the game longer, try not to use many cheats. some cheats that may come in handy are:
move_objects on = move objects that are stuck exp. sim.
kaching = +1,000
motherlode = +50,000
be VERY carful where you download cheats and hacks from!!!!
here a previous link I wrote are good combinations to look for when marrying sims. http://forums.worldsims.org/showthread.php?p=71903#post71903

LoL:rolleyes: go to buy mode, choose the option where items are NOT storted by rooms! then go to hobbies then click on the picture of the easel. There will be a piano there along with drums,guitar,base and an easel (if your not an artist like (mwa) that's what you paint on,)

ROFL ... I did that. My sim came up with an asp to woohoo in a bed; she was in love with one of the greek house guys. Suddenly I noticed that one of her dormies' rooms wasn't locked. Into buy mode, sold all the poor saps firnuite and bought a cheap double bed. Back in live mode, my sim dashed in there and shooed the occupant out then invited el greco in for some fun ... woo hoo! ;) Afterwards they sauntered off as though nothing had happened. :D
