Does anyone know of any web sites that doesn't need winzip as ii only know of four and they are this one worldsims, the others are simsuk.com,simsinfo.com,and thesims.com..I have also tryed the site geocities.com/simsitings, there is no such site.

No sites need WinZip if you have The Sim File Maid (http://www.nuclearsim.simcrazy.com/links/jump.php?sid=130&url=http%3A%2F%2Fmattwork.potsdam.edu%2Fprojects%2 FSimFileMaid). All you do is save the file you want to your desk top and drag it into the file maid. It will install it for you and you'll be all set. You can then delete the file from your desktop.

That's the same as Simsplus SimZip (program idea wise)

Very Rare. Most sites use ZIP.

SMCarol knows quite some with .exe instead of .zip files. There was this debate a few days ago.. like a challnege who knew most such sites.... pretty fun...

It is easiest for webmasters to use .zip files because the program used to run them is free and it compresses the file so it uses less bandwidth.

ZIP is cheap though...EXEs are harder to make since to do something like what we did with our most recent EXE design, it queries the registry for directory structure.

Besides the fact that there are sites with nonzip files.. How hard can it be to learn how to use win.zip?? Answer: not hard at all. It's timeconsuming, that's all..
And if you want it for sims in the first place.. how about simzip?
(Have no own experience about that though)

i agree on the research part, and its not hard writing programs...well..ok...so it is...a lil *smiles innocently* but its not exactly that hard to make .exe, like self zipping things is it?

I've seen sites in russian and chinese (i think it was or japanese can't tell thire "letters" apart

We did talk about sites didn't we? Well how many listed at these sites that have exe-files I don't know. I don't know if you guys know them either but i've found these:

I haven't looked into them all. But I know i've seem some exe.files around.

my site would use .exe files except for 3 reasons:
one: i dont have a sims site,
two: i most likely wont have objects on my site
three: i dont know how to make .exe files other than the winzip self-extracting files/
