The contest spans over a month and half period, sending visitors to various Sim Fan Sites across the entire internet. Launch partners participating in the Spring 2005 SimSurfari includes, to name a few, WorldSims (http://www.worldsims.org (http://www.worldsims.org/)), SimSational (http://www.simsational.co.uk (http://www.simsational.co.uk/)). Each site contains a set of clues and users are sent scouring through the sites to look for answers to the clue.
“This marks a big moment for the community as no such event contest has ever been attempted.” ManagerJosh said. “With the cooperation of several dozen sites, we’ve been able to create the largest known Sim-Race course contest allowing the community to cross into various sites and explore, and possibly find out what’s there besides just downloads or news.”
Chris Johnson, owner of SimSational replied, “It’s quite exciting to be part of such a monumental event. We hope this is successful so that we can involve more sites next time, and possibly expand the possible area of participation.”
Primary event sponsor, GeilUSA (http://www.geilusa.com (http://www.geilusa.com/)) has donated several prizes (estimate retail value: $400.00) for winners of the SimSurfari.
The race starts today, March 28, 2005, at 12:00PM PST (-8 GMT) at the WorldSims and SimSational where the first clues will be unveiled.
