what do i do?!?! the family on the sims had a baby that i called bailey, and a random character called Mellisa Fancey turned up at the house and walked out with the baby and now hes gone!! how do i get him back???

This sometimes happened with TS2 if the patch was not installed. They usually bring the baby back and leave it in the front yard eventually.

There are also hacks that can keep sims from doing this. But I have an in-game answer to the problem.


If your sims have enough money, use two cribs. The 1st crib can be placed in the living room, and the second in the nursery. Use a locking dorm door for the nursery and have one of the parents "claim" it. Preferable the parent who will stay at home with the baby or is unemployed, but whatever. For the sake of argument let's say Mom because mom has those "maternity leave" days. Anyway, have mom be the one to put the baby down to sleep in the locked room. Then visiting sims cannot get into the room to kidnap the baby, nor can other sims in the household get in Mom's way when you are trying to get her to change the baby/feed the baby/hold the baby. The second crib is for those times when Mom is away (she's gotta work sometime) and Dad or the Nanny are caring for the baby.

There's this game we have on our computers called The Sims 2. That's what we're talking about. See, sometimes, random characters from outside the home can kidnap the family baby by picking it up and walking off the family lot with it. We are discussing strategies that can be used to prevent this.

it can happen randomly if visitors are over and happen to hold the baby while it goes like "oh, look at the time..."
Then they leave with the baby
Next time you load the game your baby should be close to the mailbox...sometrimes floating in mid air, so that you are not able to pick her up
in that case use the moveobjects on cheat to put the child i.e. in the crib and she will be "accessible" again
to prevent that, just get Inge Jones' "Familymembers only" door for the nursery
I personally HATE if every dumdum and his brother thinks they could touch my baby
(had some lil fights about that in RL as well :D :D :D)
