What is Sim Media?
Sim Media is a fansite dedicated to The Sims, The Sims 2, Sim City, and The Sims on Console, Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, their expansion packs and soon Spore.
We offer a variety of things to visitors which are all FREE! See Below for further details!
What do you offer?
As I said what we offer is for free and this includes:
- Updated News
- Media Shows created in The Sims 2 including Sim Brother, Design Wars, Sim Street, Sim Police, Sim Date, and Ten Sim Years Younger and soon to come some new shows for the Autumn and Winter Seasons.
- We have an updated SimTV page which keeps you up-to-date of the times and dates of when all the media shows are going to be on and when new episodes will be released.
- A forum which has currently over 200+ members, over 30 000 posts and a friendly moderating team who are supportive, friendly, kind and will sort out any problems you may be having.
- The forums have a great new Simoleons feature which makes the forum a lot of fun and an enjoyable place to be.
- The site has downloads for a variety of the games, the site currently have nearly 300 downloads and these are managed in a nice but simple database which is updated at every chance possible and also included the option for visitors to contribute with their submissions. All downloads are FREE!!
- We have a Movie Share facility which allows you to contribute with movies that you have made in The Sims 2 and other people can then view them and see your work and you can also see other peoples work too. They are great to watch and are very enjoyable.
- We have a big Games Section which includes details on all games that we cover at Sim Media, it also includes reviews, previews, cheats, guides, tutorials, help, screenshots and if that’s not enough, each game has a section in the forum where you can discuss all games. The newest part of this section is the Nightlife section which is part of The Sims 2 section and you can preview what this expansion pack is going to be like. The Spore section will open very shortly and will give you detailed information about Will Wright’s newest project!
- We have a shop in association with Amazon and this is the place you can shop for your Sim games, all the shopping you do through Sim Media will help towards keeping the site going, paying for prizes for the competitions we often run, to pay for hosting and to cover the cost of the massive bandwidth we use! So all the money raised through this goes back in to the site and this benefits all the members and the visitors to the site.
- To give you more information we have a History page which details how the site started and where we are now, there is a Staff Page where you can view details on the team here at Sim Media and gives details of exactly what we all do, if you need to contact us then this is easy just use the Contact Page and choose who you want to contact and we will answer you as soon as possible. We also have an Awards page and this gives details of all the awards Sim Media has won for the excellent service it has played in The Sims community.
- If that’s not enough we have a hosting service available for gaming sites, we offer free and paid packages, they are excellent for their money and are used by a lot of small sites to get them started in the community.
- I am still not finished and we have a lot more stuff and I am going to tell you now more about the Community part of the site, we value the whole community so we offer lots of things for the community to enjoy: If you have a fansite and would like to share the latest news of your site with everyone then you can through the Community News feature which is available for you to add your fansite’s news too and this will keep the community informed. We offer you the chance to use a shoutbox which will let you speak to other Sims fans and share your experiences. As I have mentioned before we offer forums, and we have a links section where you can add your link to your site and let other fans know you are out there somewhere, so why not add your link? There is also polls for you to vote in and the Simmies for you to take part in, nominations and voting for this year is over, but the winners of this years Simmies will be revealed soon, will your site win?? The last thin for the community section is the interviews feature where we interview webmasters of fansite’s and these feature on the site, and they are very interesting to read.
What is going on at the moment?
There is a load of things going on at the moment at Sim Media and some of the things going on at the moment are listed for you below:
- Many discussions in the forums for you to take part in.
- SMs summer fun, where you can chat about the summer experience and enter a lot of forum competitions.
- Site Survey, submit a survey and fill in your email address and you will be entered into a draw and you could win a copy of Nightlife.
- Design Wars is the only current Media show running, but the current seris is due to finish soon. It will be back later in the year, also returning soon for new series include Sim Date, Sim Police and Sim Street and some new shows.
- Vote in the current poll on the site.
- Lots of News for you to read.
- Downloads being added.
