View Full Version : "Sim" logo request

ok. ive been fussing with this for some time now and i cant get a decent job done. what ive been trying to do is isolate "Sim" in the sims 2 logo and keep it in decent shape so it doesnt look cut out. if anyone can help with this, it would be great.

Ahhh yes, the impossible job of cutting out the SIM section of the TS2 logo. Unless you are extremely good at playing with Photoshop or ask Maxis for it, you're gonna have a pretty hard time achieving this because of that annoying "2" they put over the top of it.

If you see at the top of of the forum on the right hand side, the SimSational logo uses this effect BUT I used the old original Sims 2 logo. It is slightly different to the final design they used (slightly more wacky looking, and a lighter blue). If you remember, the first design we saw had the 2 at the end of "The Sims" instead of below it so it was very easy to cut out the SIM section.

If you can get hold of it, use the older logo.

EDIT: Also, I have seen a few times the new logo with the 2 at the end but it is very difficult to come across, and I've only seen small versions of it.

yeah. a major pain. for now ive just stuck with plain text using the sims font and some blending effects to make it resemble the sims 2 logo. not the greatest looking thing in the world, but it gets the job done.

I will have to look and see if i can find the older logo though. maybe i can use archive.org to grab an older version of the fansite kit?

Hey, don't worry about it. I still have the original PSD for my SimSational logo with all the different game logos seperate. I can just drag out the SIM section and send it to you :)

Do you use Photoshop? If you do I can send it to you in PSD format which would be easier for you to use.

As it's direct from my logo's original Photoshop file, I don't have it any bigger. It is about 170 pixels high. I'm sure it will be big enough though, it's more than big enough for me.
