If you've got the easel, tell her to go paint. I had mine do it--not a portrait or landscape of anything--just told him to paint a picture. He had all the creative skill points he could earn already. When he finished it I told him to sell it. Turned out to be a masterpiece and he was happy.

To be a masterpiece the painting has to achieve a certain price when it is sold ... can't remember offhand what the price is but it seems awfully reasonable for a masterpiece

I have two different sims rolling the "sell a masterpiece" want right now. Those selling for about 500 simoleans seem to satisfy this. It doesn't have to be exactly 500. Anything in the 490 range and above makes that little "paint palette" pic float above their heads. :) You're right, Mirelly...that doesn't seem like a lot for a masterpiece!

Sometimes you have to let them sit a while. A painting's worth appreciates. :D

The maid service is awfully cheap, too.:( Yes it is! I wish it cost that little in real life. I seldom use the maid service, though. Mine seem to "forget" to take the trash out or fixate on keeping the fishtank spotless. I'm certainly not paying to have someone come to simply make the bed. I miss the robot maid (can't think of the name right now) from TS1. They worked so much better for people that worked the night shift or had odd hours. (I grew up watching the Jetson's. I was sooo sure we would all have a Rosie by now. I'm a little put out that these won't exist in my lifetime. I want one in my sims world at least.)

Here, here! I'd forgotten about that maid.... she did everything, cleaning gardening, and repairs too?

Robotics engineers declare it's a no-brainer that cars will drive themselves 50-60 years from now (http://www.darpa.mil/grandchallenge/)
Mitsubishi blazing a trail (http://www.mhi.co.jp/kobe/wakamaru/english/) :p in the wake of Rosie (http://www.cybercomm.nl/%7Eivo/photo_ROSIE.html) (or did I mean Twiki?) (http://www.jeffbots.com/twiki.html)

Thank you for the Jetson link!!! I enjoyed tripping down memory lane. :D After 40 years, I still don't have my flying car or a home in the stratosphere. I won't hold my breath on getting a Rosie anytime soon either.
Umm...I really don't think it will require self termination. But if I do make it to 100 or 105 I'm pretty sure I'll need a car that drives itself. At least everyone else on the road will be glad if mine does. ;) My mom is 80 and never was a good driver. I should take her car keys away from her but she'd never speak to me again. She now has a bee up her bonnet about buying a big pickup truck. Considering that she can't make a left hand turn or back up a car the thought of turning her loose on the public with a truck is terrifying. I sure wish those cars were available right this minute. :(

Drive defensively: Buy a tank!
I'm beginning to think you're running some used tank dealership. Puleeeezzz don't send my mom a brochure. I'm positive she'd insist on buying one. I've tried to visualize her taking one of these things through the safety lane. Out of curiosity...do they have turn signals? It'd be a real pain to pop the top to use hand signals. ;)

OMG what a picture. Your little old mother peeking over the top of a tank to do hand signals ... tee hee ...
Some people DO drive tanks, they just call them Buicks. Or Hummers. :D
Bet people with Hummers are having buyer's remorse now that gas is so expensive ...
I drive a beat-up Honda Civic that gets 35 miles to the gallon in the city, easy. Probably more, I'm just not good with math. I have to fill up once every week and a half and it costs me $20.
Want to save money? Buy a Civic. I've had this car forever and plan to drive it into the ground ...

OMG what a picture. Your little old mother peeking over the top of a tank to do hand signals ... tee hee Oh geez...it's a terrifying picture to me. She would take out every telephone and light pole on her route. She is a little thing that can barely see over the steering wheel. She got her license so she could drive me to school. Never did learn how to turn left. She managed to find a way to town and back home making all right hand turns. The only problem was that there was only one parking lot on this route. If it was full...we had to go home. I've had a recurring dream since childhood of my mom driving everywhere in reverse. I have no idea what this means but it's probably not good.
For some reason this reminds me of the elderly gentleman that lived in our neighborhood when I was a kid. He had a little drinking problem and his license was revoked. Undetered, he drove his riding lawnmower to the liquor store. We could tell if he partook of his new purchase on the way home because he would mow a drunken swath through everyone's front yard. :D

@#%#$ it!!! There goes the diet coke up my nose again!!!!! I just got the mental picture of some little old man on his riding lawnmower going up and down the block mowing other people's yards and singing, "How dry I am." LMAO!!

"How Dry I Am"? Could be. I always pictured him singing "Rye Whiskey". "If the river were brandy and I were a duck, I'd dive to the bottom and never come up. Rye whiskey, rye whiskey, rye whiskey I cry...if I don't get my whiskey I surely will die." One of the first songs I ever learned for some reason. It's a lively song...much better for singing loudly on a lawnmower. :D

I'm afraid old age is creeping in, because I'm starting to remember the words to songs I learned in elementary school better that whats on the radio today.
like: roll out the barrel, an' we'll have a barrel of fun....

Oh, I have been having a good time teaching my little ones the songs I learned when I was their age.
"Boom boom, ain't it great to be crazy" is a big hit, and for some reason, so's "Joy To the World" (the 3 Dog Night Version, though they left out the one verse that starts, "If I were the king of the world. . ." Not appropriate for Kindergarteners.)
Now if I could just remember that stupid "Popcorn" dance they taught me in Brownies, I know that my kids would love that, too!!
Darn, I'm old. :(

Give me a line from the popcorn song. Geez, Kristal, I was not only a scout all the way through, I was a scout leader and trainer for 20 years. I'm getting old and my ability to recall stinks but I have boxes and boxes of resource materials.
I still love 3 Dog Night, too. I miss songs that you could sing along with. I listen to my kids music and I'm stunned they aren't tone deaf. All the music today is monotone. I don't think anyone needs more than three chords to play "music" now. (Yeah...I sound just like my mom did about my Beatles. :D I've never forgiven her for getting rid of all my old Beatle items. They are probably worth a fortune now.)
You could probably teach that last verse to your kids. They'd think it meant something else. I remember being little and hearing Elvis didn't drink. I was amazed he didn't drink water. ;) I always imagined him thirsty. LOL!

Popcorn was an instramental. It was this little song done with a synthisizer (msp) that we did this little jumping line dance to. It was really easy, we just hopped on one leg, then the other, then did something else, then something else, then clapped, then spun around and did it all over again. By the time we were done, the meeting was over, and all the little Brownies went home for dinner and to bed!! LOL (Now that I think back, it was probably one of those things our Mothers cooked up to make us go to sleep easier! LOL LOL)

I know the song you're talking about. :) I used to DJ online and that song was a regular on my rotation. Hmm... come to think of it, it would be fun to see the Sims doing the Smustle to that... :D

I found the MIDI, but I can't upload it so you can hear it and know what I'm talking about. Oh well. Anyway, it's called "Amazing Popcorn". I remembered the dance, too, and showed it to my Hubby and the boys. Hubby laughed his rear off, the baby cried, and the teenager grumbled because I was in front of the TV. :( Oh, well, life goes on.
