can't play sims 2 at all!!

we just installed sims 2 for our apple quicksilver 1.73 dual Ghz G4. all specs are up to date and/or exceed what is required. however, when we try to play the game, it just quits and offers to send an error report to apple. we can create people, just not load any houses or property and therefore cannot get into actual gameplay.

any help anyone?

What version of Mac OS X are you running? Do you have an nVidia graphics card? :)
