I just installed The Sims 2, University, and Nightlife, on my family's computer (I have my own souped up gaming rig that's all mine).
Problem is, on the computer, when the game is played, it starts up, the splash screens only have the unanimated text at the bottom, the opening movie is only sound, and where the loading screen should be, there is the Maxis, and trademark, etc, but all else is a bunch of random jerky coloured boxes.
I know where the problem is, It's the DirectX "direct 3d". I tested it, the spining box was there, but the texture was the same type of coloured boxes.
The game works fine on my PC...
NVidia GeForce 6200 with 64 megs of ram
512 megs of ram
AMD 64 bit processor, 1.8 gigs.
Windows XP ProBut on my family's computer...
Integrated NVidia GeForce 4 MX, with 64 megs diverted to it
512 megs of ram, -64 for the graphics card
AMD Athlon XP processor, 2600+
DirectX 9.cAnd I also have the saved info from the DirectX config.
So, any help? Because the Sims 2 is addicting, and guess who won't give me my computer back?! I need my PC! I need "Real" video games! Not heli-attack!
