Newbie Question - Importing Houses

I just got Sims 2 and have been playing on my Mac Mini. Game runs great so far. Probably helps that I have 512Mb Ram.

My question is: how do you install houses downloaded from the web? not sure where to put the pack files.

I find it varies; sometimes I get one of those Bodyshop icons, and have to install the lot using the Bodyshop package installer. Others, just double click and see what options come up.
