Just a question - how come when you break up with a sim sometimes they leave the house and go straight to the bin but other times they stay in the house. Are they supposed to leave or not? Also if there is a couple that are married and he cheats with another women that you have developed and actually lives in a house that you can control. If you break up with him with he go to the womens house that he cheated with or will he go to the bin - im just curious?
Thanks - im just trying to establish the boundaries of the sims.

A sim will choose to leave if they are sufficiently upest by a break up. I can't recall any specific conditions but a sim will always retreat to the neighbourhood sim-bin after leaving home. (Teens are an exception if they leave home due to mood failure ....)

If you have Nightlife then, in the neighbourhood screen, you can combine the move-out sims with his or her paramour's household. Otherwise you'll have to put the movee into a temporary home of their own and then play the lover's house to invite the lonely sim over and get them to move in.

Slight correction: I think the move-in feature comes with University.

I thought it was a difference of married vs. just engaged/seeing each other, but I could be wrong. I had a married couple break up and he left automatically, but when I had someone break up with his fiancee I then had to make her move out.

But again, that could have been based on how bad they felt about it. Or possibly that has changed with NL? The married couple was one I played when I only had uni. The engaged couple was more recent.

Do you have NL? Just curious if they've changed that feature. It was a little buggy. When Marcel moved out he got lost in the ether for a while.

Really? I was sure that the neighborhood move-in feature came with NL too.

Oh, sorry. Possibly. It may come with both, I wouldn't know because I installed Uni first.

It comes with both, I only have Nightlife and I can move random sims in with each other. A very nice feature, may I add. I love to stick together recently-broken up couples.
