Not 100% positive, but is it from the book Dhalgren by Samuel R. Delany? I haven't read it yet, but I have a couple of friends who have recommended it to me.

LOL well done. It's quite an old book but it left a lasting impression on me. It was out of print the last I checked and very hard to get hold of ... very weird story though but funny and thought-provoking as well. Huh ... just checked. Back in print since 02 ... :o

I've seen the whole two moon thing posted else where...apparently it's a normal thing for the game. Come to think of it, I remember once when one of my sims was abducted, there were two moons in the movie shot.
