Two of my favorite Sim Sites are gone: Simalogical and Heleane!! I can't find any explanation for Heleane's site except that it's "under construction". It's been that way for a week, and I'm starting to worry that she's gone. And, today I read on MATY that Inge has closed Simalogical?! I'm in mourning because I am a big fan of these sites.
Anyone know what happened to Heleane? Maybe a thread somewhere I missed? Y'all know I don't read all the forums out there.

Apparently it's caught several people off guard as well. SimLogical being gone has upsetted a few people..
As for Helenae...not sure.

Okay, Inge posted this over at N99
I'm not actually gone, I'm fine, but I am just a normal player now (although I am not currently playing a lot). These are the reasons:
Reasons why I was thinking of "retiring" from modding in the first place:
Community changed
o More people with competitive and even aggressive personalities - perhaps because the game now has an element of challenge which it didn't really have in Sims 1?
o Individuals appointing themselves to organise the modding community and demand certain procedures and standards which adds mental stress to the creative process and makes you think "this feels like a job and I'm not even getting paid for it"
o More modders than ever before each producing more than ever before - always new clashes to look out for and therefore support
Game changed
o Game core changes substantially with each EP, meaning tedious overhaul of old work each time. Sims 1 the stuff you made in one EP was always compatible with future EPs.
o Maxis have now included in the game a lot of the reasons Sims 1 players started modding in the first place - to get realism such as locking doors, toddlers, and businesses. I don't resent this at all, it's so much more efficient and less error prone to have it built into the game.
Reason why it suddenly happened now rather than gradually over the next few weeks?
• The usual reason - an individual upset me! N99 rules prevent me elaborating, which is one of the reasons why when I do want to chat about the game in the future, this is where I will come to do it. Friendly, respectful people. :)
Hmmm I wonder if we can blame Pescado for aggressive behavior :p

LOL but Pescado is more brusque than aggressive, blunt as opposed to rude. On the other hand some of those who haunt MATY are somewhat less than salubrious individuals. A fair degree of flaming and outright hatefulness has gone on over there. However I note that since the move to MTS2 there are dark mutterings about deletions and moderating and "calming down the atmosphere" [my words]. Maybe Delphy set a few conditions for the return of the prodigious Fishman
