Does anyone know if you have to have all the cep's or do we lose the skins, etc made with earlier versions if we only have the most recent one installed?

I think you only need one. I downloaded it and I'm pretty sure it installed over the old version and all my skins seem to work fine.

all my missing pictures must be because I've blown out the download file more than once. It was just a thought.

You only need the most recent version. I've reinstalled recently and I've got all my old downloads with just the newest CEP.

Sorry for the newbie question - but what's a CEP?

The color enhancer thingamabob you need to view your downloads in the game. It's available at MTS2.

It's needed so that if you have downloaded objects which don't have design options in the Maxis original, they will show up.
If you don't download objects for use in your game, it's unnecessary.

LOL! If they'd looked for a "color enhancer thingamabob" I suspect they wouldn't find it on a search.
SWB, if I have a brainglitch and can't remember the exact phrase, you have permission to help me out any time you wish. ;)

Brainglitch. I love it! I'll have to use that one.
And, it's a deal. Though no one's brain could be glitchier than mine :p

I have one, but I get confused between the two of us. This could be her typing now.
That's quite spooky. I've just been listening to Gnarls Barkley, Crazy, and I turned off all the lights in my bedroom and I keep thinking I can see someone out of the corner of my eye.
If you're wondering why I'm on the computer and listening to music with the lights out, it's because I'm not supposed to be up and the light will alert the household to my awake-eg-ness. I'm using headphones, btw.

LOL. Obviously I *was* having a brainglitch. (Brainglitch is a cleaned up version of what we usually call my "lapses." The other is something that my grandpa Sims seem to like to do at the dinner table. A Brain__)
