Everyone of us has a fear of rejection. Is that the reason there are so many people that have never been married..or is it the reason that so many people are single in america and the world today. People are afiraid to go out there and be with someone else..

so..everyone know that feeling..that feeling i face...everyday...

Yes. It might be that Bryan. But that phenomena is common for all the western world I believe. it can also have to do with the bad habit so many people have to only pay attention to what's negative with another person and not focus on the positive and look for things to encourage. I've seen it in especially schools, but also at workingplaces. That makes people edgy, uncertain and gives a feeling of not being good enough.
That's what I think.

Uhm. Bryan. I maybe misunderstood you. I can't see the art-factor here. I think it would be much better to have this thread under off-topic. It's a very interesting subject you know. ;)

True Lew. But I'm not enough familiar with Asia, for example, to really have an opinion about that. :classic:

*Is waiting for Bryan to clarify the art in this thread.*

That's so true Tess. :classic:

Cool Bryan. I would like to see more examples about fears from you. I believe you can do something great here. I wouldn't be surprised if you already had something going. ;)

Personally I have no idea about rhyming here.

Traditional china has this sort of fear too, given the rules they've built up over thousands of years can be very specific about your behavior, relationships, dress, religion etc. A prospecitve mate may reject you, or more common, her family will, because you're not of the proper wealth - can't bring enough status to the family, maybe you have a western religion, might have violated some confucian rule. Maybe it's rumored that your parents were poor while you lived overseas . That is a big sin in China, Korea and maybe Japan too. As the grapevine spreads this info and your own personal appearance and situation are known, you never know what consequences it will have. The Anti-western problem was acute during the Boxer rebellion and pre WW2 days. I'm curious to know how the communist era has changed the social rules. It's not all Amy Tan.

It doesn't quite seem to follow, but I love the poems that have a particular stamp to them. That go with a whirl and have a cadence with them, almost as if you are playing the drums when you read them. Do you remember an Inn, Miranda (Hillaire Belloc) is one such poem. If you don't remember it let me know I I will repeat it. It is stuck on the wall next to the computer, as is 'The Pig Got up and slowly Walked Away' and one or two other 'goodies'.
