Okay - my friend has been nagging me to join Bebo for ages now, so the other day I did. I made my profile all pretty, I put the friends up, I made a quiz, and tonight I went on it. So I was mooching around, as you do, when I got back to my homepage bit. I scrolled down a little, and it showed my friends who had joined and their picture, and there was somebody new. I have no idea how they got onto my friends list - I'm a newbie there, I don't understand everything on it yet.
So this new person had no picture - just the blank box thing thats supplied for people with no photo. And the name below to it said 'Emma you ****in slag'. The username was 'ih8emma********' so I clicked it. And the profile came up - not filled in, but bearing this dirty great insult to me to the world. And I just burst into tears.
I reported this person, and I have no idea who they are, or what will happen to them. But what did I ever do? I'm sorry, but I don't believe I am a slag. I doubt many people would. I just don't se the need in hurting someones feelings like that for kicks. I mean, what did they thinkI'd do, laugh along with them? That is one of the most hurtful things anyone has ever done to me. Hundreds of people from my school can see it, my best friends can see it - everyone I know can see it. I just don't get why me though. Why do they always choose to pick on me?
I've had enough. Tomorrow if I get to school and its one of the freaks in my class that did it, I don't care how much bigger he is than me. I doubt they'd hit me back anyway - too much of a coward. I may be little, but this person is about to find out her temper is not.

Oh, Babe, I'm sorry. Kids can be so mean. I had a horrid time in highschool. All I can say is, you are way cooler than they are and one day they'll be losers on the slag heap while you're just hitting your stride.
As for hitting, don't know how it's treated in your side of the world but here you can get in trouble for it ... maybe you could think of a more creative way to get revenge?
Of course, if they know they got to you, that might give them what they wanted in the first place. Maybe you should play it cool?
Not sure. You'll have to decide of course, just my two cents.

I know, I agree with everything. I'm just - so annoyed! They always seem to target me! I have a few ideas about who this person might be - all of them are guys, no offence to the males - but I'm not about to throw wild accusations around.
I just want to show him. I want people to be laughing and pointing and jeering at him. I want him to know how it feels!!!
I am pretty cool. :p That cheered me up SBW. But he's still gonna get a slap.

Bebo/My Space and so on. Let's face it, people. These things are for losers, primarily. The kinda peeps who attract no-one, people for whom the tag: 'Billy No Mates' was invented. Whatever your faults, Babe, (and we all have some, don't we?) you do not deserve abuse like that. Therefore there is only one principal motive behind such simple nastiness: jealousy. Someone is jealous of you, of your looks, your confidence and your ability to fit in without selling out ... yeah I figure I know you that well! So play it cool and ignore it.

Well I don't know exactly what a slag is but I would guess that it doesn't discribe you. I agree with Mirelly people usually do those types of things out of jealousy. They figure they can take you down a peg or two that way.

Update... I was still pretty shaken this morning after reading that and was feeling a bit delicate. I ended up flipping out in the middle of class when the prime suspects for the Bebo thing started throwing things at me and calling me. I ended up storming out of the classroom in tears halfway through the lesson. Eh. My people are pretty used to me and my drama queen exits now, and I managed to do a fantastic door slam before running off down the corridor and Eileen running after me to look after me. Channie had been sent out of the classroom earlier on for being bad and as I ran past she called after me but wasn't allowed to move. The rest of the day was fantastic - and yes, I'm being serious.
Big shocker this evening though - I had a look on my website and on one of the shoutboxes 'me' has said 'omg!!! emma u little slag why dont u just run on the motorway and die!!!' Now after last night, I knew I wasn't Miss Popular - but to tell me to die? Come on. Somebody needs to get a life. My Dad said I shouldn't reply to the message, but I knew I wouldn't have to, and that my friends would for me - and already, Laura has writen a fantastic diss back.
I'm not bothered anymore - if they want me dead, I can't change that. But I think I'll stick around to bug 'em some more.

Frankly, my dear, they sound like a bunch of morons who are not worthy of your time or energy, and it sounds like your friends have your back anyway.
Your friend won't let you out of your room, Reign? Um, is this a normal situation for you?
I am SO glad I'm not fifteen anymore.
No offense to those of you who are. It's just such a hard time of life, not quite an adult but no longer a kid.

Agreed :( Just took a look at Bebo's terms of service; they don't look so hot. Bewst advice they give is to delete offensive messages and to block the offender from visiting again. Personally speaking I'd close the account entirely. If you want a web presence get a blog, or better still (if you can) pay a small sum for your own www.name and a bit of web space ... you could then track the exact identity of everyone who visits and if they misbehave you can compplain directly to their ISP. I did that once and had an idiot disconnected from the net 3 times before he got the message (either that or he was beginning to worry that he was gonna run out of ISP's before I got tired of reporting him).

What you need is a little sister. It's worth the maintennence ;)What a fabulous thing to say, AlisonB. I've always wished I'd had one. Got two brothers instead. I know I would have learned a lot from having a sister whether or not she was older or younger.

I once was chasing my lil step-bro through the house and he ran smack bang into a door. He had a lump the size of an egg.
Ooh, funny bump on the head story. Will tell ya in ' So What's New?'

I'm sorry to hear that. I used to hit my head a lot, too. I think it was because I was so tall as a kid. I was 5'2" in the 4th grade, 5'6" in the 6th grade (age 12). I towered over all the other kids, and every time something got thrown it seemed to hit my head!
I hope your noggin feels better soon, Babe.
I have a little brother. He's only 18 months younger than me, and is over 6 feet tall, so he's not so "little" anymore. He was a real pain in me arse growing up but now that we're adults we're really close. We're also a lot alike. I can't even have a decent political debate with him because it's like preaching to the choir, LOL.
We both have daughters, so we've got that in common too. It's nice having a brother now, but if you'd asked me when I was Emma's age I would've said, trade you for a bag of beans!

Holy moly, 5'2" in 4th grade?! That's humongous!
Um...I mean, no it's perfectly normal. You just...got your growthspurt...early...:o
I was around 4 ft. in 4th grade...I was the shortest in the grade, so I could squeeze through traffic jams in the hallway real easy.

Yep, I was tall all right. I was taller than my teacher. I was also a skinny thing, could've used me to get stuff out of the sewer, LOL.

5'2 in 4th grade? I'm only just above that now and I'm 22!!! Some people get all the height :( .
Oh well, good things come in small packages:D .

My husband is 5'11" and I'm 4'11" (and 3/4 of an inch.)
And American kitchen shelving is designed for people with his height, not mine. :( I hate being short. And when I was 22 I weighed about 100 lbs. That's been creeping up over the years, especially after I hit the age of 35 (which I'm long past). :o
Oh well, good things come in small packages:D.You're right about that Allie. My daughter is 5'2", a small package carrying a good thing due about the middle of August. They expect a baby girl.

So very exciting, Lynet! You'll have to tell us when she arrives.
I stopped growing after the sixth grade, pretty much, if it makes anyone feel better. They predicted I'd be six feet tall, and I'm just under 5'7". And no longer skinny, sigh.
Witch Baby seems to be taking after me. She's approaching 5 feet and she's only 8 years old. Her daddy at 5'8" is the tallest member of his immediate family; I'm the shortest of mine (I'm taller than my father in law, LOL). I expect Witch Baby will end up pretty much smack dab in the middle of tall and short. :p
