Updating + Installing Add ons

Can any one help I have original SIMS 2 CD game and also original add ons, but when I Install it asks me to insert original SIMS 2 CD 4 into drive to update. Once I have done that it says update unsuccessful, then it begins to unistall the add-on. It does this with all add on I have purchased. Also tried downloading the latest Patch for SIMS 2 off net. When I run this it just crash and dies. Nothing happens.... Please help.:(

Which add-ons are you talking about?

All of them.

- University
- Nightlife
- Open for Business

And I have a pretty good PC as well

1.5gb ram
512 Graphics Card
etc..
