university stalls -- how to do it from hard disk?

Hi,

My daughter has been playing Sims 2 for quite some time, so our PC is clearly compatible.

We just bought University, and it stalls when asking for the second disk as if it won't recognize that second disk (although I can read the disk directory and see what files are there).

Somebody in a previous post with a similar problem said they installed it from the hard disk. I copies both CDs to the hard disk, but when it gets to the second disk it asks me to put it in the CD drive. How do I get it to read the CD2 files from the hard disk and not from the CD drive?

This answer should help. You need to be very picky about naming the folders exactly and both discs needs to copied to the hard drive.
