Ooh! Any chance of reducing that signature pic's size to a quarter of the height ... takes up waaay too much room and will make people complain ... nice pic though :p

Short answer to your question.

Package files go into My Docs\~~\Downloads

Sims2Pack files have to be double clicked to install them

Lond Answer:

So if you have put them into Downloads go there now and put your mouse over the file and see what the tooltip describes the file as (or look in the details section toward the bottom of the left hand column of the explorer window)

If it says Sims2 Installable package it is a Sims2Pack file and must be double clicked to install it

It it says DBPF Package it is already installed and should be left alone.

If you have correctly installed custom clothing that is not appearing in your game refer back to the site you got it from for more information. It may be that you did not get a needed MESH to go with the "skin" file. Meshes are the shapes of the clothes (eg pants, puff sleeves, skirts etc.) Skins/recolors are just image maps to paint over some detail onto a mesh ... a lot of clothing is on custom (not Maxis made) meshes. You have to be careful when downloading that you are getting the right mesh for the clothes.

OK hon. RAR files are compressed files like ZIP files.

You need a gizmo to unRAR them

http://www.7-zip.org/ is the best way to go because it is free and it handles most common file compressions

http://www.rarlab.com/ is the place to get the official WinRAR but trust me, ya don't need it
