No "Ask" option

i have sims open for business and hot date installed on my computer, but i have discovered tha there is no "ask" option. i can no longer ask sims out on dates or even ask if they need help at their businesses. i think i'm also missing alot of other options, yet at the moment that is the most prevalent problem, how can i fix this problem? I would really appreciate the help.

Urr. Hot Date was The Sims (1) and Open For Business is The Sims 2.

Clarify please ;) Also have you downloaded anything? (is there a folder called Downloads in My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\?)

I'm betting Alexalli means NightLife, not Hot Date. Wish I could help with the problem Alex but I think you're going to have to give more details, as in, answer Mirelly's question.:)
