I have a few Sims that have fallen in love with NPC's/townies. One couple is engaged and the other couple is actually married - but for both couples, my Sim cannot ask the other Sim to move in. Why would this be? How can I fix this? Their relationships are 100/100 and as I said, they are engaged/married, and I've had other Sims of mine have NPC's/townies move in, so I'm really confused. Please help!

Mrs. Fuzz, I've merged the two threads since it's flooding to post the same question in more than one place.

As to your question, hopefully someone will answer, since I'm not sure why you would have this problem unless one of the following were the case:
1. you have 8 people, or fewer but with pregnancies which would make the total more than 8, in the house already
2. your Sims don't know the person well enough to have the "Propose: move-in" option (which you say is not the case.)

Sorry, I wasn't aware I was spamming!

There's not more than 8 people in either house. I'm really confused! One of the couples I just gave up on, but the other couple is married. (She's married to Zach, who is one of the mascots at SSU - not sure if this contributes to the problem.)

Is anyone in the house pregnant? A pregnant sims counts as 2 sims ... or 3 if she's expecting twins ... don't forget male sims produce green babies if they get abducted by aliens ...

No, there were only 6 sims in the house - 3 females and 3 children, no one was pregnant. I moved out the woman who's married to Zack and her daughter, but even at her new house, the option is still not available. I even tried having her drink the Love Potion 8.5 (I wasn't sure what it did, lol) - nothing. I'm just going to try to break up with him. Argh, frustrating!

Sounds to me like the family is corrupted in some way. Do you have any downloaded houses or families/sims that may have brought you some unwanted hacks? Note that houses that come with sims in them generally bring a large portion of problems that can ultimately make the game unplayable.

I could walk you thru a cheat to add to add the reluctant sim to the family but you would, in all honesty, be piling more errors on top of an already unstable edifice.

First steps to curing the problem (assuming a cure is possible and there's no guarantee that it is) is to remove your downloads folder from the game and and also bulldoze all houses that you may have downloaded. You can then attempt to fix problems with either the boolProp testingcheatsenabled debug cheat or else with Pescado's lot debugger (the latter being the safer route).

My feeling is that you have a stuck move-in/move-out that has corupted the lot. My suggestion would be to move the family out of the lot. Then try to "Propose: move in" with the townie.
