Today, I finally got Sim City 4; I'm not one of those people who lie about things, ManagerJosh knows that. And I know many other people who have it over at the SC4EVER.com forums. As they've been popping up in stores like EB etc...
So I had a little go of it today and it's abosolutely fantastic as you may guess.
If you'd like to ask me any questions about the game or want any screenshots, I'd be happy to comply.

Well as people are going to get it over the official release date, I think people might post screenshots of their city.

I just thought that I would let you know that I received my copy of Sim City 4 by this mornings post. I live in the U.K.
I haven't got used to it yet - it looks great. The graphics are much improved and the terraforming tool looks quite simple - even to me.

Same here, i thought it was out late feb, i was in the store and it turns out it came out yesterday, when i was there. Screw everything SC4 is out i'm getting it is what i thought. I've been up all night playing around getting used to it and then when i got in this afternoon i hit the pc again. Too addictive for your own good thats the only downside :)

*Hugs Josh* Me neither Josh.
But I just thought of this. Look what many traps and things we can avoid by letting the others make them first. :p

I'm going to have to use cheats I'm afraid. It's simply too hard to plat it properly.

You can now add us to the list of the ones who have it! My son Chris installed it and played it first. He is a perfectionist and he gets frustrated very easily. I think for him, he may have to break down and use cheats until he gets the feel for the game. I do give him credit though, he is continuing to try again and again. :classic:

I can relate to that pokeygirl, I just want to built the biggest and best city, if it all goes down, I obliterate it; just after I throw a few meteors at it :D.

Isn't it easy to create zones! The roads are built automatically :).
Is it just me, or are the buildings in this new version of SimCity more expensive than SC3000?
ManagerJosh
01-25-2003, 08:45 PM
I don't think those are roads...more like streets
[ S a g e o n ]
01-26-2003, 12:12 AM
I'm not quite sure about the prices of the buildings, but as it's a new game you'll find a lot of things different compared to Sim City 3000; another example is you get an extra $50,000 budget when you start your city, so yes. They might be more expensive.

About those automatically built roads. Take a look at the thread I made about them.
You find it under City Planning

That is almost the same method i use, but i lay out 6x6 blocks. Thanks for the link Nina :)

You're most welcome Sam. :classic:
I understood from Alturas that those streets/roads where following the price of the zones. So if you have a $50 zone that street section will cost an additional $50.

This is a merged thread. :classic:
I put all 3 together and made it sticky, so all that wants to add that they got the game can do that here. :classic:
Why? Because they get "lost" in time and the more threads the more difficult it will be to find what you want and be able to add to it.
And guess what?? I got it too now.
*Jumps up and down with excitement.*

Do you like it Nina? lol Thinking about getting it myself, right now i'm finding out the requirements though :-D
I got SimCity 4 too. A couple days ago. But I am confused - you all seem to have got it new recently? I thought it had been out for some time? My copy is actually a cheap second-hand copy... but I'm hooked already lol.

You can see the date on the other posts to see when they were posted. :D I was late getting my copy too and even later starting to play, I've HAD the game since summer and only just now started playing! :p
d'uh! Thanks!
(This colour combination is hard to see...) but this forum l ooks useful. I'm stuck on the getting started bit - it's mean of them to set the game up so that it's harder to start off a city than to play later?
