I bought my ofB EP yesterday. I tried installing it and everything was ok. Then I tried installing the patch, but it would not fully install. It would stop at the CAS.exe file and stop responding. So then I decided to restart my computer. that didn't work. Then I tried a defrag. That also didn't work. Then I came to the last conclusion of backing up all my CC files, neighborhoods, etc. and reinstalling my entire sims game.

Now I wish I stayed where I was. I can install the original Sims 2, but after that, I can't install any of the EP's due to the patches not working on my comp for some reason. I have tried to install University, but it keeps asking for disc 4, and when I put it in, the patching works until it reaches the CAS.exe file. I am so clueless on what to do and I was hoping to find some help here. Any help would be most appreciated, thanks.

Best to start over with a full manual uninstall (to remove all the Windows registry entries)

There's a link to how to do that in the FAQs (in my signature)

Before you start reinstalling you would be advised to run a defrag.

I'm having a problem deleting the CAS files though... when I try to delete them, the recycle bin stops responding. What's weird is that they are from OfB, though it isn't installed on my computer....

Eh, I hope this means I have no hope...

Please identify the path to the "CAS" files that you are talking about.

In My Computer highlight the path in the address bar and copy it by Ctrl+C and then paste it into a reply here by Ctrl+V. For example:

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Open For Business\CSBin
