Anything specific needed for golden anniversaries?

I have had two great parties both hosted by the sim with the lifetime want, and both she and her husband are happy elders. Still, the lifetime want is not being acknowledged. Any ideas? :o

A couple of questions:

Was the couple married before they transitioned to elder? They need to be, I think, or the want won't be acknowledged.

Did you choose Throw Party/Anniversary? You can't just throw a regular party.

Do you have all of the patches for the EPs you own? Sometimes non-patched games can act weird.

If you answered yes to all of these I'm stumped.
