screen of game goes black

the screen of my game goes black if I minimize for too long here are my specs


Processor: Name and speed (MHz/GHz)
System Memory RAM (MB/GB)2048mbs or 2gbs
Windows Version (98/XP etc.)windows xp media center edition 2005

Total Hard Disk Space 300gbs
DirectX Version:direct x 9.0 c
Display Adapter (Graphic/Video Card) Name & Model Number gefoce 7300 LE..
Display Driver Name and Version Number & date for this I have no idea..
Approximate Total Video Memory 256
Game Detail the sims 2 cd rom verison every EP and mini pack, except holiday edition..
Nature of problem When I minimize from screen say to pull up a webpage real quick and if I keep it minimized for too late my sims 2 game screen goes black (I play the sims 2 in window mode) I will add that I have a high resolution monitor and the resolution is 1680x1050..

I got this computer about 4 months ago I was playing the game on the most minimal possible with 256 that was horrible :P

No it hasn't I have all drivers updated..Do you think maybe it's related to my monitor resolution? it's 1680x1050 and I've noticed the sims 2 resolution doesn't go that high..I can't change my monitor resolution though because it's a wide screen and any lower looks "stretched" someone on the sims 2 forum suggested I lower my monitor resolution, but I can't do that..

I'm not too sure if this will work, but maybe you could try to run the sims 2 in window mode. That way you don't have to alt+tab everytime.
