I understand that the new forum, Writers' Block, has roused some heat between a few members and I just wanted to take this opportunity to explain my intentions and thoughts on the matter.

When I decided to move my stories onto WB, I did not do so because I wanted to stab everyone in the back at WS and go "Har har! Screw you, losers!" I did so because I thought more people were likely to read my story over on a writers forum than on a help forum. I also hoped to see lots of new talent at the new forum and have a lot of fun while doing so.

A member (who will remain nameless) asked me why I was still posting stuff on WS if I was going to ditch the site. My intentions were never to ditch WS. WS was and IS my home and I hope it can stay that way, even if I post my stories on a different site in the future.

I am sorry if I have offended anybody. That was never my intention.

I'm sorry if members feel that they have to take somebody's side by becoming a member at WB. In my opinion, the forum is not about taking anybody's side in this. It's a forum for writers and readers! If other members have certain views then so be it. But remember, the forum is a forum for writers and readers not whether this is better than that or whatever and I think quite a few people might agree with me on that. If other members have a different view on the matter (and I'm sure some have), then fine. Let them have those views. I'm not trying to suck up to anybody.

So, like I said, I am not going to ditch WS or WB. I'm not going to take anyone's side in this. I will continue being an active member on both forums and I'm sorry if I offended anybody by something that I have said.

If other members have "problems" with me (sorry, couldn't think of a better word for it... :o) then please tell me but do so in the open.

Thank you.

Well as many of you are well aware, things have been changing here. New styles, new domain, heck even a new image with "Urban Online Entertainment"

I expected a lot of heat from a few decisions and the first of many for years to come.

Mirelly does bring a lot of valid concerns and I value her opinion greatly. It is such feedback that I've truly come to depend upon because it is clear, concise, and are valid points. I'm truly blessed to have her part of WorldSims as she brings a great deal of wisdom and insight to this team.

So let me go ahead and explain what's the logic behind everything here.

WorldSims initially was started up as a fansite, but as time progressed, we moved the site to be more in line with Christ. We decided to treat it as a business later on, but as a Christian business. Much of our philosophies and ideals are rooted deep in Christian ideals, culture, philosophy, and the Bible. We designed this community in mind to be safe, to be open and to be grounded in Christ.

We came to a turning point about a little over a year ago as Spore came closer and closer to being released. I realized then that we had an issue since branding a "Spore" site as a Sims site is a problem. No one really wants to turn to a "Sims" site for Spore.

We ran through possible scenarios such as starting up a company for each future site we operate. Naturally we thought long term ahead and we realized there would be even more issues as starting to manage multiple companies would become an ever bigger problem with more titles we decide to support. Literally that would translate to one game series per company.

We started conceiving a spin off site as a network for future sites we would operate. We drew up the plans to be similar to WorldSims itself, with Christ at the center of our community. The drawing plans were pretty much finished till I realized operating two independent sites was a bit of a problem. It would mean literally double the administrative work.

We sent everything back to the drawing boards and had to redesign everything from scratch to ensure a harmony between "WorldSims" existence and our new network.

We finally struck a balance between WorldSims and our new network. WorldSims will remain an independent entity of this network while our future sites will be part of this new network. It would minimize excessive administration and further more, would allow us to operate efficently and minimal costs.

Much of 2006 was a year of discovery, and design processes for the network. We needed to find a balance between keeping our core values at heart and at the same time, keeping our non-Christian members happy.

I started the year with a few of my senior staff in Nashville, TN at Passion 2006. I discovered a real Passion I had for Christ and I wanted to share it. I ended the year in St. Louis, MO at Urbana 2006 with some of the answers I needed.

What I've learned at Urbana was there is a line that I can walk, my senior staff can walk, my staff can walk, and most of all, my members can walk as well. I discovered a movement called "Business as Missions". At Urbana, I found the track I loved so much. Ironically, I think it was calling out to me as it was labeled "Open for Business", like our Sims 2 Expansion Pack.

I discovered how others were bringing in Biblical Principles, spreading the Gospel through the workplace, advancing the Kingdom of God through the workplace and using their jobs to spread the love of Christ. I had the opportunity to meet Sarah from Sarah's Hope Jewelry and hear her speak about how she used her business for Christ.

With her wisdom, what I learned at Urbana and Passion, it's how we formed Urban Online Entertainment, a division of WorldSims since that's who we've been since day one.

So here we are today, after several major design templates, internal beta testing, designs, sketches, and so forth.

So what's ahead?

Money: It is a valid concern and no site can operate without some sort of financial backing.

I know that you may be wondering if we are planning to be a make Urban Online Entertainment a company to profit from. The answer would simply be yes, we do hope to make a small profit enough to sustain this site and invest into future developments towards additional projects. We are carrying over the policy we had from WorldSims and that's to operate like a business to make enough money to break a little bit above even so that we can continue expanding and building up this community to the best we can.

Any money generated from any source of income is intended to stay here within WorldSims.

We do not have any plans of financially backing any organization, faith-based or not faith based, currently.

I know we wrote that we are a supporter of the Passion Movement, and we are. I won't deny that. But there are many ways of supporting other than by mere money. Our plans are to support the Passion Movement are by promotion of certain events like Passion Regionals, and through Prayer. If there is a calling to donate money to them, I will most certainly make it known when that time comes. But as of now, I do not foresee us making any contribution financially.

We will continue generating revenue through our primary means of ad revenue. We're trying to optimize much of the ad viewing so this way it doesn't annoy the heck out of people. Feedback always welcomed on that by the way :).

Staff/Team: I respect and love my staff a great deal. Regardless of faith and belief, Christian or Non-Christian, they are part of our community and I love having different perspectives, point of views, and ideas running about. It encourages thought. It challenges me to go beyond who I am and encourage me to grow.

I do not expect all my staff to be Christians, and nor will I impose such a policy on current or future staff. While it is a preference, being a Christian to be on our team is not going to be made mandatory now, or ever. I will say though, that our core team does require you to be an active member of a Church and regularly worship and a resident of Southern California :).

I don't expect my staff to share the Gospel either. Should they wish to, that's fine by me. Should you decide not to, that's fine by me too. It's not a requirement.

My only expectations from my current, and future team members is to keep doing what you do. Everyone has done such a wonderful job in bringing us here and I don't want that to change.

Members: Like the staff, everyone is welcome. Being a Christian is not a requirement to be part of this community and it won't be ever. I owe a great deal of debt to every single member who has helped us reach this far. From contributing stories to discussing and helping out newcomers, it has been rewarding to see this community grow.

Future: The future is a bit murky. We have a path set before us and a light that only shines only so far. I know that the path we chose is a controversial one but I do not have any regrets.

We'll continue operating WorldSims and Urban Online Entertainment as we have in the past, and with a clear commitment to operate this site as a "Kingdom Company".

We will stumble, and we will mess up, but we're learning. We're inviting Christ to be an active part of our community, and now we're inviting you to be part of our community as well.

Today I'm going to go train "professional" jumping at 2 PM. I mean jumping with horses, of course. Sort of like this: (not me jumping, I stole this pic off of a horse site. :p)

Only I don't jump obstacles that are that high and I definitely don't jump with one of those snob horses, as I like to call 'em. Ever since working at that posh stable, I've got a grudge against big, macho, isn't-allowed-to-get-the-least-bit-dirty horses. Maybe it's because I had to brush, wash and shampoo horses like that till they were sparkling clean when I worked there (they weren't even the least bit dirty from the start, in my opinion).

I was at the stable I go riding at yesterday and because I'm so used to horses that are twice as tall as me now after working with HUGE horses at the posh stable, they all seemed so tiny. The tallest horse at "my" stable -- that I thought was huge before I worked with the others for 2 weeks -- is now actually quite small. That's funny. :D

But it was nice seeing all the little horses and ponies again. They seemed happy to see my gloves again too (most of them have a habbit of slobbering all over them -- :yuck:).

And with the re-opening of my forum, I've uploaded a new house, 451 Baybreeze Drv. It's one that I threw together after I got my new computer. Much more is to come. Here is some screenshots of it. By the way, I'd really appreciate it if any of you would join my forum. I know that since you have WorldSims, you don't need another forum :D, but atleast try it out. Thanks! http://sims2news.com/forum

Well, I've decided to give this blog thing a try. I don't really know what to say, so bare with me. Well, I'm going to go back a few days. On Saturday, my sister was out taking a walk, and a little kitten followed her back home. When she got back, the kitten looked very hungry. So, as of now we are taking care of it in our garage. We would bring it in the house but 1) We have a dog (yikes!) and 2) We don't know if it's disease-free or if it has fleas. We are going to take it to the vet here soon to get it checked out. We've called all of the vets in town and none has had any reports of a missing cat. I hope we keep it but my mom doesn't like cats. I just hope it won't go hungry again. I think it purs 24/7 now :D . On the totally random side, this is my first year of high school. So far I like it better than middle school. More freedoms, right? The teachers and buildings are much better now too. Now that we are in a brand new air-conditioned school, it's freeeezzzing in there! People are walking around with coats and sweaters on. Even though it's 90 degrees outside. I've got a Spanish test tomorrow, wish me luck. My sister is a Spanish prodigy, but I just can't get the hang of it. Once again since I'm not sure what to say in a personal blog, if this isn't right, please tell me. Thanks!
