Oh man...THAT ia a tough question...It depends..What mood am I in...What time of the year it is...Whether or not there's a full moon... A couple of songs that continually pop up in my top 10 at any given time, however, are: Nights in White Satin (Moody Blues) Forever Autumn (Justin Hayward) Moondance (Van Morrison) California Nights (Leslie Gore) Careless Whisper (WHAM!) Yeah - I know...I like the old stuff...Check again next week, and the results may be different...
Definitely a hard one. I become addicted to some songs for a period of time, where I'll listen to it over and over again, and others I can listen to for ages without getting bored of them. My current addiction is Painted By Numbers by The Sounds. Oh, and I heard a song the other day called Heart of Glass by Blondie - really liked that one and I have to say that Lily Allen does a great job of singing it live (my mum was really surprised when I told her that I liked a Blondie song because it's not really my style of music and it turned out that Blondie was her old fav band!). And I can't diss Sweet Child O' Mine by Guns'N'Roses (that was my addiction a few weeks ago). There are so many more but I can't be arsed to type them all down. I'll check back with ya later maybe. :winks: So what's your favourite song at the mo, butterfly? I was just listening to this song and I just had to add it to my list: Politics by Korn.
I go through phases too, and my mood definitely influences what I listen to but these songs never grow old - they are always on my playlist: If We Were A Movie - Hannah Montana One In A Million - Hannah Montana Goddess's Tower - Maplestory (Instrumental) Ellinia - Maplestory (Instrumental) On A Voyage - Maplestory (Instrumental) Orbis Tower - Maplestory (Instrumental) (lots more Maplestory music lol) Because You Live - Jesse McCartney Bad Day - Daniel Powter Love It When You Call - The Feeling You and I - Celine Dion You Take Me Away - Reel Will I Ever - Alice Deejay My Time - Dutch ft. Crystal Waters The Prayer - Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion Welcome To My life - Simple Plan When It All Falls Apart - The Veronicas Speechless - The Veronicas Since U Been Gone - Kelly Clarkson (Jason Nevins Remix) Anything by Busted/ Bowling For Soup/ McFly/The Corrs is good too. Phew!

Memory Remains by Metallica and Rape Me by Nirvana (I never get sick of that song and yeah, it's a weird title, I know) are good too. Run To The Hills by Ironmaiden is rather catchy as well.
Yep, it's me again. I just had to add this one to the list: Luv Addict by Family Force 5. I dunno why but that song makes me laugh every time I listen to it... (Man, my throat would really hurt if I sang like that every day.) "Hold up wait a minute put a little love in it!"
I discovered the yahoo music site yesterday because I was looking for a song I'd hear on the radio very rarely. Turns out it's Father Figure by George Michael. I listened to some of his other music. I also like several of the songs by Journey, particularly Open Arms, and I own three or four Enya CDs. I am embarrassed to confess that I tend to go for the romantic, mushy songs that are often turned into elevator music (although I don't care for it in that transformation.) I like certain operas, too, like TOSCA, the opera by Puccini. There's a lot of beautiful music in that one.
Oooo - Journey...LOVE Separate Ways! I think I need to listen to it right now! And yes, love Enya to, and of course, Clannad. Love that Celtic inspired music that, as Vega points out, makes you dream!

Just looked up Vienna Teng, John. Sounds nice, the clips I found on Amazon. If I'd gone by most plays in the last six weeks I'd have populated my list with all of Cloud Cult's Meaning of 8 album instead of limiting myself to the track that led me to buy ...
Yeah... there's something I love about her music. I'm glad you liked the clips too If anyone is interested.... www.viennateng.com has a jukebox near the bottom right of the page that plays some of her songs.
I should have mentioned Separate Ways. I forgot about that one until we were driving for three hours and I decided to play the Journey CD. I ALWAYS turn the volume way up on that song as soon as I hear the first chord. Not sure my husband (who was driving) was all that keen, but he didn't say anything.
Agreed! That is a FULL Volume song if ever there was one! And two more songs that need to be cranked up to Eleven: Born to be Wild (Steppenwolf) and Bat out of Hell (Meatloaf). Those two are part of my Road Trip playlist.
My favorite songs: Smells like Teen Spirit, Nirvana Nirvana Unplugged, the entire album Criminal, Fiona Apple Was I? by Madeleine Peyroux Cold, Cold Heart by Hank Williams Sr. You Ain't Woman Enough to Take my Man, Loretta Lynn Romeo Had Juliette, Lou Reed If I Had a Million Dollars, Barenaked Ladies Just about anything by the Velvet Underground Paris, John Cale One Headlight, the Wallflowers Smooth, Santana with Rob Thomas Silent All These Years, Tori Amos I Will Survive, Gloria Gaynor A Fine Romance, Billie Holiday Suzanne, Leonard Cohen Famous Blue Raincoat, Leonard Cohen Dance Me to the End of Love, Leonard Cohen Vienna, Leonard Cohen Working at the Car Wash Blues, Jim Croce Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack Avenue Q soundtrack Les Miserables soundtrack Deathly, Aimee Mann Save Me, Aimee Mann Wise Up, Aimee Mann (actually, pretty much anything by Aimee Mann) I could go on. I like a lot of songs. In general, creepy and atmospheric, or funny, works for me.
Speaking of which ... doncha just hate it when someone comes along and asks a question and then doesn't hang around for the answer SBW ... I see we share a lot of musical tastes. I first fell in love with the lovely lyrics and gentle voice of Leonard Cohen ... erm back in 1970 (oh gawd! ... teen-angst and high-school graduation pressures ... such pain needs musical melancholia like a motorcycle needs an ashtray, but as wrong as it seems, they just go together so darn well. I suspect that the reason why that is so forms a small but significant part of the meaning of life, the universe and everything.
It's Cohen's lyrics that haunt me. I didn't even know who he was until my mid twenties, but he really speaks to me. We had a friend who plays the accordion play Dance Me to the End of Love and Vienna for us, instrumental only, at our wedding. Believe it or not, that's the perfect instrument for those songs. Dance me through the curtain that our kisses have outworn Dance me to the end of love ... The man can write, no doubt about it. I have an album of Jennifer Warnes singing his stuff: she has a lovely voice. Have you heard it? I like your list, too. I'd definitely road trip with you!
