LOL so true. Gosh, Mirelly, you almost make upgrading a computer sound easy in your last post. I have a feeling that if I were going to upgrading my computer, things wouldn't be quite that easy... I'd probably be lost before I even started undoing the screws. :cheeky:

I just got home from my friend's house. Me and some other friends slept round her's for a "spa night" LOL. Only we didn't do much "spa-ing". Just smeared some muddy stuff that they had dyed blue on my face and looked like a funny monster for 15 mins. It was quite pleasant actually. Cooled my face down a lot which was incredibly relaxing. Two of them had the unfortune of getting masks that stung when they put them on. It said on the package that it was supposed to be gentle for people with sensitive skin. Yeah, burning people's faces isn't exactly 'gentle'... *shakes head in disbelief* Other than that we watched a really boring video, ate so much junk you wouldn't believe and went to bed at 4 in the morning.

Geezzz... you guys have been waaaay busy!!!

I've been sort of busy too. Paul's home again!!! YAYZ!! He came home Friday morning at about 2.20 am. Since then we've been busy dooing stuff together around the house. Right now he's helping me putting up shelves with lights for my Saintpaulias. :D I'm no good with drills. :p

And I've been busy writing out like 10 invoices (de-crypting his handwriting... ) for the customer's he's been visiting during the last weeks. Also researching about lights and plant and fotosyntezis.... Very interesting - but wearing. my head is spinning!

And I've mentioned to him about LA Josh... But... Hmmm.... Dunno yet. After all it's not going to be a cheap trip and I have limited animal care to get as well. The thing is that my relatives in NYC starts to get old. And you never know right? They are my mom's cousins and I would love to see them as well.

Hehehe... Btw Josh. Why don't you take a trip to Europe and Stockholm??? :D:D:D especially maybe January-February when we, hopefully, have enough snow and it's cold and crisp in the air...

Which reminds me. Muffin. I know what you mean by slushy and greyish roads inside Stockholm. it's almost never cold enough to not having the slush and the snow gets about black from all cars. Come visit us here on the countryside. :) The snow on the road here gets a lil' bit greyish - but the fields remains white! Look at my pic's post above here... :) And sledging IS fun! The prob is when youet to a certain age it's regarded as "childish" and "not cool" - unless you have the small kids with you. (Called babysitting) Then you have the perfect excuse. :D Sledging here isn't possible - unless you put a motor on the back.... It's to flat.

How cold does it get in January-February?

It can get into the teens (Fahrenheit) around here on occasion, although it's not often or for very long.

My connection to the internet was extremely sluggish for a few days. Seems to be better now. But for a while, even a short comment was torture to post, because it took so long. I'm so spoiled. I get annoyed if what I want to do doesn't happen instantaneously. And to think it wasn't very long ago when I had no connection to the internet at all. I lived in total isolation from the WWW. (I didn't have a cell phone, either. Talk about a primitive life! At least I wasn't sitting in a tree eating leaves.)

LOL Lynet ... I've only just come down outa my tree (I didn't eat leaves, though. I specialised in ferreting bugs out of cracks in the bark with a twig ... I has got brainz for a munkee.

Meanwhile, I finally figured out where to put the Firefox files from my old system into my new Vista one so I have regained access to all bookmarks. I likes my nice messy bookmarks folder. It might be big and convoluted, but I can find anything I want ... well, usually.

Anyone know any good sites for desktop wallpapers? (Ones that don't contain about twenty five gazillion pop-ups, (usually ads for pop-up blockers) .... Freedom from porn would be a good bonus. I made the mistake of googling for beach views ...

Looks like Errol and one of his babies. Too sweet. I need to get me a new avatar.

What's new with me is I've been having fun playing some of the background characters in Veronaville. Got me a little population 'splosion on my hands, but won't muddy my story by talking about all of them . . . just the more interesting ones. :)

Thank you. I've always liked that picture. And SBW is right. It's Errol holding Ania, his first daughter.

Timewise, it's between stories, after I,Sim ends (Ania was born at the end) and before Ironsides begins. Errol and Kate had a little peace and quiet with their new baby, Ania, before the Producer/Director came banging on the door with another hot plot. :p

I guessed that anyone familiar with the stories would recognize Errol by his haircut.

    Whats new with me ?
Well as some people have noticed my winging about pain and tablets.
I have been in hospital and had an operation on my kidney for kidney stones.
They put a stent in my kidney to open it a little to expel the stones. Two came out but 3 left to go. I have been in and out of hospital and have had approx 50 morphine shots for the pain and they keep sending me home.
This is due to not enough doctors beds and nurses. Our terrific health system. I have to wait till next week to have the stent removed and wait for more weeks to have another operation to sound explode the other stones. So I haven't been too well lately as I only have one kidney.
I'm sick of the pain and the politicians that caused this hospital crisis. If I were a politician in this country I would have been fixed in a week. I'm so angry about that.
So now I have to go for more ex rays and still wait.
Kidney stones are one of the most painful things I have ever experienced. this is my seventh time since age 21. i had my leg smashed in a bike accident and that was no where near the pain.:(
Sorry for venting but I just had to let it out.:(

So sorry to hear how rough things are for you at the moment. Renal colic is only one step away from being the most painful of all medical conditions. Salpingitis is reputed to be the worst. Lucky for me, I wouldn't know. My son is down-under at the moment doing his post-grad training to be a GP after our politicians made the UK health system so complicated that new qualified docs couldn't navigate through the labyrinth paperwork to secure a decent training place. Luckily Oz has its immigration doors wide open for english speakers with doctors' degrees. It's looking as if he may well decide to stay there.

We had a serious shortage of doc a decade ago. Stupidly the politicians forced a massive increase in medical school enlargement. Now we have more docs than patients ... it seems.

So sorry for what you're going through, Moon. Vent here as much as you want to. It's OK to do that.

p.s. I saw your comments on Muffin's story. LOL, Moon. Very funny. I hope you have read, or plan to read, the rest of her story. It's very good.

Thanks Lynet. I found out today I have an operation on Wednesday to remove stent. That will be a little relief. However after that I have to wait for a week or two for another operation.

I have been reading the stories and find Muffins interesting. I will try my hardest to read them all. As I'm in a lot of pain I find it hard at the moment, so I read a bit at a time. I really hope I can read them all and give a vote.:)

    Regards Moon

Gee Moon...Sorry to hear you've been laid up! I've had a couple of friends who've had Kidney Stones, and have an idea of how painful that can be. Hop you're feeling better really soon!

Aw, Moon, I'd give ya some rep to cheer you up if it would let me... but it didn't- :( I really hope you get better soon and the hospital doesn't ware you out too much! I agree with you, hospital is a nightmare. They never seem to be able to do anything..! Once my brother got his lip cut open by stumbling over a stick and we had to wait two bloody days and a half just for the doctor to give him two stitches! They stuffed him into an empty ward and gave him some drugs and made him watch sad movies for two days. *sigh* Honestly...

And what's with the stupid flight system! (I know this has nothing to do with hospital, but I'm just so caught up in bad systems.. :p) My family booked a flight to the UK and we went onto the internet and chose our seats for the flight (some new function they've got). We were all pleased with ourselves about our seats and then the flight called an hour before we left, telling us that our flight had been cancelled and we would now be stuffed in some random plane right at the back next to the freaking motor so you couldn't see out of the window and we were pestered by the rumbling motor for the rest of the trip. This poor guy was sitting on a fold-up chair thing outside the toilet, for goodness sake! Luckily it was only a two hour flight.. But still. People paid for that trip! Sheesh. What happened to customer comfort? :sigh:

BTW, I saw the comment too. It made me laugh out loud. :D

"That vampire could bite me any time."

LOL! I'm sure Don Lothario feels the same...

Thank you, guys, for all the kind comments on my story. Means a lot.

Anyone missing bright, spring weather yet? This is a picture of cherry blossoms (close-up) that I took in April this year.

The weather here has been lovely for a few days, sunny and in the 70s, but the trees are dropping leaves. Autumn has arrived. When the season changes I like to look at my pictures taken from other seasons of the year. It amuses me that any pictures of springtime flowers always look a lot better to me in the autumn, when the leaves outside are yellow and falling, or in the winter, when there is snow on the ground.

There is something so deliciously zen about staring at cherry blossom. I am at one with the Japanese on this. There should definitely be a cherry blossom holiday. No-one should have to waste their life working while a cherry blossom remains unobserved.

Thanks, Lynet. You just brightened my day. :D
