    Can't use Servo?

Hi everyone (you are all so helpful, thank you!!!),

I crafted several Servos, but can't seem to activate or use them. I place them on the floor (they are not marked for sale or anything) and yet "No action available" pops up... nothing else... is there some trick for using the Servo? I have no other problems with the other robots.

Also, I've seen mentions on other forums of Sims marrying Servos?? And with the BV expansion, "Robot" is a turn-on/turn-off??? What is a robot/marriable Servo, and which expansion pack did this come with?

    Thanks again!!

Oh that must be annoying. As far as I know you just activate a servo by clciking on it and following instructrions. It's been a while since I made one.

Have you checked your downloads folder for potential hacks?

If you build a servo at a business. You cannot activate it. :)

I'm not sure about your last question. However all servos can Marry.:)

AH! That makes sense. THANK YOU. Already, oddly... all my other robots (like the CleanBot) work in the business and don't seem to work at home! Annoying.

    Thanks again.

I think the Servo thing is that it stops you building staff members and they also need a place to live. :)

Does anyone know if the genetics for a baby of two servo's are random? My two had a baby the other day, and he had light skin, brown hair, and brown eyes. His face looks pretty normal right now, but he is only a toddler.

Hmmm...It was my understanding that Servos can't reproduce. Did they have a baby through a hack?

Yeah, my sim who married a servo adopted their kid. They never had try for baby as an option. Neither do my two servos who are married to one another, as far as I remember.

There's a trick to activating your servos. You have to take them off the shelf first, I know that much, but it's been a while so I can't remember what else you have to do. I think the game asks you if you want it to be male or female when you do that, and to give it a name.

Sorry if you've already tried that. I remember being frustrated the first time I made a servo. I seem to remember putting it on the floor and clicking on it and then it worked.

Oh yah, I used the InSiminator :D

When I saw that their names came up on the reproductive microwave thing, I couldn't help myself

So did she show during the pregnancy? Use maternity clothes? I'm just so intrigued by this.

I can't activate my Munchie Bot. (I'm not up to the Servos yet.) The Hydro Bot and Sentry Bot and the cleaning thingie work fine. But the Munchie Bot just hangs in the air in the kitchen and looks kind of creepy.

I think it's self-run. I never was able to control it. It will run for food when your sims are hungry, but I haven't figured out the logic behind it yet.

I hate bots. Cleanbots dump garbage everywhere, hydrobots spew water until your yard looks like a lake, sentry bots zap your friends and munchiebots make you fat. Mine are broken more than they're fixed. I had to hire a maid once to clean up after my cleanbot, which I then deleted.

What a waste of effort they all are. The only ones that are worthwhile are the servos.

I'd like to see a furniture making workbench. Now THAT would be cool.

She didn't grow or have maternity clothes, she just went through the growing and having baby actions, and then there he was! I think he is the first face template, which is good - he is very handsome! :D

So FINALLY I can make a servo and here I go. Given that it appears a servo can get pregnant at least once, and can partner up, can they adopt? Has anyone tried to have an all-servo household!??!?!? I would totally DIG that!

omigawd why didn't anyone tell me?! servos are awful - running amok and feeling lonesome and bored and believe you me, they do not mix well with a family that swims a lot. omigawd.

the only thing that makes me happy is that I had them reprogram themselves (I have two now) and one got the marvelous grilled-cheese aspiration. So I have to keep him! There really is nothing like a formally dressed robot who just wants to talk about grilled cheese all the time.

But what a lot of trouble they are!

LOL I think my servo is very helpful (she's called Servolina btw :D). She does whatever I want her to do, though I have to admit she's very set on doing the household chores. Like I'll set up different chores for her to do and then in the middle of everything she goes off to make some food because a "Do Chores" action just popped up in the top screen and sabotaged my plans. I keep thinking, "Honey, you're DOING the chores!"
