Where are the hula dancers? Every time my sims go on vacation on Twikki Island they want to learn the hula but I can't find anyone to teach them. Where are the hula dancers hiding?! Ruthie
Hi Ruthie, I haven't found a hula dancer either. I imagine that you need to find a community lot with music playing (loudspeakers plastered about the place) and just ahng around until you find a local doing the dance. That's how my lot learned the slap dance ... but it seemed an age before I spotted a slap dance going on. It seems to me a lot like the grand vampire scenario in Nightlife. If you don't see the special sim straight off and interact with them you are apt to wait a long time before seeing that special sim again. For example I've only seen the ninja once. My sim was busy so I ignored it ... not seen it since
I've seen someone dancing the hula, but it wasn't on a vacation lot. One of my legacy sims called the matchmaker for a date and got a teen from Twikki Island. They had the stereo on and she just started to hula all on her own. I had everyone in the house join in so they all learned how to hula.
I guess I was fortunate because I found a group doing the slap dance on the first lot I visited with my sims after I got them settled in a hotel. Now I can't get them to stop it! LOL Well some of my sims have friends from twikki island so maybe if I invite them over they will teach my sims to do it. Never tried inviting someone from vacation for the 3 days or whatever, but it may be worth a shot. Ruthie
I sent my sims on a 7 day vacation and didn't once find any hula dancers...that's why I sent them there! Oh, and Ruthie; I merged your two posts since it was within two minutes of each other. If you have the option and your post was the last one please just edit it to prevent excess posting. If it's been several hours feel free to post again, but if it's a couple minutes please just edit. No big deal, but newer members might try doing this to up their post count.
. Yes, the easiest way is to go to a large area w/ a stereo someplace and hang out by the stereo heh. I made my main sim do that and she can slap dance and hula. I now make her become friends with my new sims and have her invite my new sims over and teach them those 2 dances. I think the best new learned action from BV has to be the teleportation though. I dl'ed a mod which allows me to teach others to teleport if they ask. Also, that main sim found a beach vacation hidden map and sent her to the hidden hut location. I saw a witch doctor and his tiny hut with all of his broken equipment. I started fixing the equipment and he gave me a voodoo doll I can use. The voodoo doll is quite funny lol. You can make people fall in love with you, become very cold or hot, hate you..etc... So... I am having fun with the BV expansion.:knockedout:
I had seen the Hula Dancers and the Slap-Dancer several times before I patched the game. Since the patch came out, I haven't been able to get them to dance those dances! I can't even get them to do it at home--the lucky few that learned how to hula and slap dance say they want to dance, but the option is no longer in their menus.
Hula dancing I found that when i bought a house on Twikkii island, the natives came around to welcome us to the neighbourhood, when they were greeted they came inside. I had one of the sims turn the music on and all a sudden they started dancing and i think you click on your sim and it gives you the option to 'Join in Hula'. Its really funny when one of my sims, who is pretty unco cos she didnt have very high skill points, started to dance and she kept like shaking her head and overall just looked like a clutz.
If you go to the magician's hut and don't pay attention to him for a while he will start dancing the hula. So, you can learn the dance and bond with the magician at the same time. I did that in both Twikki island and Takemizu village
Some of us just got Bon Voyage for Christmas, you know! First trip to Takemizu, I met the ninja at the Zen Garden and learned to teleport in about three seconds. (It took ME days!) Then I put soap in the bubbling fountain and my sim started giggling. Best vacation ever.
RE: Hula Dancers (Not On vacation) I tryed everything to get hula dancers! .. and i dunno if youve done it bye now .. but when my sim died of old age .. hula dancers came .. weird ay ! but ... if you do the boolprop testingcheatsenabled true thingy .. and then make sum1 dir of old age they come to your house .. and you can learn lol .. sorry .. i just happened to me the other day and i fort id let you knwo !!
I didn't know how to get my sim to hula dance either but today I saw a NPC (dressed in a hula outfit) doing it at the hotel and I made my sim join . Then everyone else can learn too!
You can't learn from the hula dancers that come to your house when someone dies. You can't interact with them at all as far as I know. I still haven't got a hula dancer to interact with but I did finally make enough money to buy a vacation home on the island for one family. Unfortunately my computer at home crashed and burned so I had to replace the the motherboard and some other stuff, in other words I had to start all over so no one has much money yet. Anyway I need to send them on vacation more often and then hopefully I'll have some hula dancing sims in the hood soon. I also added a radio to a couple of beaches, hopefully that will help too. Ruthie
My sim learned how to hula at the hotel when a N.P.C danced. They normally wear a hula outfit to represent who they are. Then once that sim knows and gets the whole family hula'ring, it'll be a repetitive want icon lol.
RE: Hula Dancing just enable boolprop then when a local comes to wherever your staying make them selectible and make sure you have music on somewhere on the lot and get the local you selected to start the hula then you can get your sims to do the hula once you've learned you can just unslect the local and they will disapeer eventually unless you choose to make friends with them. Beware of the voodoo doll it will disapeer after a certain number uses plus you have go back to the island and vist the secret lot again to get the doll and vacation memento again.
I finally got one of my sims to learn the hula!!! FINALLY!! It took several days of sitting at the boardwalk with a radio on a cheap table though. Some native guy comes over and starts dancing and I got so excited I almost dropped my mouse getting the girl over there to learn it. She happened to have that want up too so she earned 1000 points too! Ruthie
