I need urgent help! I have not seen any1 answer this!

:( Ok, I uninstalled the sims 2 a few weeks ago because I thought it was slowing down my computer. I recently attepted to install it again for my little sister. When I put the disc in it did not start up by itself. A box wih a red x and another box that said ok appeared. I did not know what this meant! I tried to autorun it by going to run and typing in what the manual told me to type....same box.....I went to my computer clicked on it....ame box...I right clicked and clicked open......same box. When I uninstalled it i tried to look for any file of the sims 2 and deleted it. Has anyone got an answer to my problem and has this happened to anyone else? I know it happened to my friend to and us two have been trying to figure out how to fix this problem for days. So please and thank you for any answer or post!!!:(

    *sigh*...

I did not want to go this route, but let's give this a shot anyway. Let's do a MANUAL uninstall.

To manually uninstall this game you will need to edit your system registry in a two part process. This will remove all traces of the game from your system.
Remember that editing your computers registry incorrectly can severely damage your operating system. We recommend having a computer professional perform these steps. If you are confident, however, that you can edit your registry successfully, then please follow the instructions below carefully. To remove all of the game folders:
    1. Open your My Documents folder.
    2. Open the EA Games folder.
    3. Right-click on The Sims 2 folder and choose Delete.
    4. A Confirm Folder Delete window will appear, choose Yes.
    5. When the folder is finished deleting, close the window.
    6. Open My Computer.
    7. Open your harddrive (by default this is C:).
    8. Open the Program Files folder.
    9. Open the EA Games folder.
    10. Right-click on The Sims 2 folder and choose Delete.
    11. A Confirm Folder Delete window will appear, choose Yes.
    12. When the folder is finished deleting, close the window.
    13. Right-click on your Recycle Bin and choose Empty Recycle Bin.
Now you can remove the registry keys for the game.
    1. Click on Start and then click on Run...
    2. In the text line type 'regedit' without quotes, then click OK.
    3. click on File and then Export...
    4. Choose a location and name for the file (this will be your backup registry file).
    5. Click Save.
The next steps will all be performed in the left pane of the Registry Editor window.
    1. Click on the + next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    2. Click on the + next to SOFTWARE
    3. Click on the + next to EA GAMES
    4. Right-click on The Sims 2 folder and choose Delete.
    5. A Confirm Key Delete window will appear, choose Yes.
    6. Click on the + next to Electronic Arts
    7. Click on the + next to EA GAMES
    8. Right-click on The Sims 2 and choose Delete.
    9. A Confirm Key Delete window will appear, choose Yes.
    10. Click on the + next to Microsoft.
    11. Click on the + next to Windows.
    12. Click on the + next to Current Version.
    13. Click on the + next to Uninstall.
    14. If you have the CD edition, right-click on the the Key named {8AB8D458-939E-403F-0097-9BA1C1F013D5} and choose Delete; if you have the DVD edition, right-click on the Key named {40C03514-89C3-41BA-0090-3B440256DB87} and choose Delete; If you have the UK/European CD edition right-click on the Key named {6E7DD182-9FC6-4651-0095-2E666CC6AF35} and choose Delete.
    15. A Confirm Key Delete window will appear, choose Yes.
The Sims 2 has now been completely removed from your system. You may now choose to reinstall the game.

What you have is pirated software and it is illegal. You will not receive any help from WorldSims. Buy the game legally like everyone else. I'm now locking this thread.
