    Nightlife Neighbor problem

One of the options you can turn on is where you can see your neighbors. When I turn this on, the neighbor's house's look really really bad. They are like one big pile of pixles. How do I fix this.

    jupitershana Kitty Fanatic!

I just took a look at the picture you posted, and to tell you the truth, that's what everyone's looks like in game. If anything yours might look a tad bit better than mine! It was hard to tell from the main picture, but the link you provided us with where it's a house at night looks just like everyone else's "neighbor houses" from what I've seen. I think it's just how they made the game.

Shana is right, Mr. H. You neighbors look about as good as they're likely to get. Check this post later and I'll repost later with a shot from my game ...

OK I just cranked up my own game to raise the settings to maximum:

The setting options are found under:

options (...) >> game options (gears)

I checked the maximum option for all the choices in the Lot View Panel. (Normally I play with the fade distance & view distance settings set to large rather than extra-large) Raising the standard I found that the game was slower to scroll around, there being a lot more work for the video card to do, for actually very little improvement in image quality ... tho' the extra distance was interesting to see.

    My system is a 2GHz AMD/fx5600 256MB/1GB RAM

Here are 3 pics of the same lot (a rooming house in the central area of my main 'hood)

Pic #1 View from back garden towards the road with view across the park across the road and the town hall community lot beyond that

Pic #2 View to the left down the street, the park on the right, and Jaycock Square shops at the end of the road

Pic #3 View to the right down the street to the corner. The large house is unnoccupied and was built by me to fill up the space. As you can see, the closer a building is the more pixellated it becomes. This is a limitation of the game engine and not a factor of your own computer's power. A single large lot will challenge even the most powerful home PC so adding in another 8 or 24 -- you do the maths :p

To provide detailed 3D, scrollable views of the neighbours would require a lot more video processing power than is otherwise required for playing the game.
