Well, this is my try at BodyShop making a shirt, and I came up with this:

I think it is quite funny.

Hope you like it, and constructive criticism and opinions are always needed!

I have never worked out how to make clothes but I like to use body shop for making look-a-likes. That is a really good job though. I hear chavs in my school saying things like that all the time. One thing they say in my school is "whatever minger chicken winger" and you can't help but feel sorry for them for thinking it is funny.

ok, so i just started trying out body shop. I'm so awful at it. I can't figure out how to do anything except custom eye color. I can't figure out clothes or hair. I have photoshop, but it's not easy to figure out. Can anyone help me?

Thanks Lynet! That was really cool! I'm still having a problem though. I got one outfit and it was a male toddler and I was able to change the colors on Photoshop. Now, though, I tried to download a dress and it isn't in the body shop like the little boy's outfit. I saw that I had to have a sims2 patch and I downloaded that, but it still didn't work. What did I do wrong with the dress?

Do you mean, you downloaded it from another site? Sometimes they just don't show up. I've had that happen. The creator does something weird and the game doesn't like it.

You have to install downloads, BTW. If it's zipped you need to unzip (or "unrar") it and put it in your downloads folder. The SimFile Maid can help with that. (Available on MTS2.)

If you mean you created it yourself, did you remember to download it to the game? I've forgotten to do that before. If so, you can go to saved projects and reload it, and then download it to the game, and it should show up.

I figured out how to download clothes off of sites and make changes to them, but I'm still having problems with hair. Also, I have no clue where to start when making my own clothes. By the way, what's a mesh. I had to download one in order to get a certain dress and I don't know what exactly that is or what it does.

I think of the mesh as a wire framework that supports the colors -- like a 3D canvas. A lot of people simply recolor the meshes that are already in the game so that all you have to do is download the recolor. There are quite a few downloads, however, that change the framework -- lengthen an ingame dress, for instance. With those you need to be sure you have this new 'mesh,' or the outfit will not show up in the game at all.

I'm not surprised you've had trouble with hair. I've downloaded hair that other people of created and posted to fansites, only to find that it doesn't work at all in the game. I've been disappointed many times. Hair is very difficult to create.

It's just that there are so many different things to choose from in that one file and I'm sure to pick the wrong one everytime. Even if it's just something like putting colored streaks in red hair. It's awful. So, if I wanted to create my own clothing in body shop, do i need to create a mesh? If so, how would I do that?

No, you don't need to create your own mesh. I'd start slowly and just recolor something that's already in the game. For example, I don't think they provide nearly enough black clothing.

Creating your own mesh is tricky and requires third-party programs.

Once you get the hang of how to work with stuff in BodyShop you can alter meshes slightly, but there's only so much you can do. That's why I started downloading meshes other people made and recoloring those.

Eventually you'll have enough parts that you can cut and paste together, though again that's tricky. You have to pick meshes that are compatible. Pants to skirt, for example, just gives you funny looking pants.

The mesh is the black and white file, BTW.

thanks. i've downloaded and recolored some things off of the sims resource. all free ones, of course. i guess that's all i'll be doing though. it's very frustrating after awhile. it took me 3 days to figure out how to do that much.
