My Sim graduated but his clothes changed and he's poor! I worked hard at making my Sim a casanova. He was seeing 3 different women regularly (including his maid and his professor), his room on campus was very pimptastic, and he dressed like a stud. But, soon as he moved off campus his clothed changes into this geeky outfit that my Mr. Juan Santos would never wear and he only has $20,000 to his name. When was living in a house with his roomates, they were rolling in dough. They had over $100,000 and a very luxurious pad. So: How can I change his clothes? I tried using a mirror to change his everyday clothes, but my only other option is his formal wear and his workout attire. Using the permanent appearance change only did his face. What do I do? When my Sims graduate, do they get to keep any of the money or possessions they earned?
Complicated question, dnt. To get new clothes you have to go shopping again although not outside his neighborhood. For example, even if you have the option to take a taxi back to the campus (I don't recall if you do) anything you buy there will not show up once he gets home. It's money thrown away. Same goes for Downtown if you have that EP. If you buy it Downtown and go back to the Neighborhood, the stuff will be gone. Now that we've established that, go shopping and go home. Buy him a dresser. Then have him choose the dresser and 'plan outfit' His options there will depend on what he bought. As for the money, cash does not go with him back to the neighborhood and that, I agree with you, is a shame since he's accomplished so much while at college. If you have the NL expansion then he is allowed to carry inventory (not the same as shopping for clothes) in a backpack. Inventory can include things like cars and expensive statues. College graduates can pack up all sorts of expensive objects in their backpacks before calling to return to the neighborhood. You could probably have gotten most or all of the 100,000 back to the neighborhood with him in that way. Without the backpack, I for one, don't know any way other than with cheats to get his money to go with him. Hope this helps explain what happened.
Thanks for the reply, that really helped. I forgot about clothes shopping, I guess I will have him do that. I don't think they should just pick an outfit for him though, Sims have personalities and style, ya know! And maybe I will just use a cheat to get some more money for him. I don't have the Nightlife expansion pack but I might need to get it now, thanks for the info! I really appreciate the help!
My Sim looks like a stud again, thank you! Also, I just got Nightlife and my Sim's fiances turn-on is facial hair so I had him grow a beard. But she caught him cheating on her so she pretty much hates him. :(
