:D Thank you, friends, and that's what you are. Wish I could see your faces. But I'm glad you can't see mine right now. :p I have off from work today and I'm still in the big T-shirt I wore to bed, and my hair's sticking out in every direction.

The weather is muggy and headed for 90 degrees here. I'm going to spend the day inside the house, simming my heart out.

Hope you all have a good day, too.

No doubt about it, Minnesota is looking better and better every day. What do tourists go for mainly? I have to think of something that my accountant husband (who likes toy trains, by the way) would like to see and do in Minneapolis. :D (besides drink beer, of course)

LOL...umm...MOA? (Mall of America). I believe they have a store there dedicated to toy trains. Always a tourist trap...and we have an IKEA out there now! The Science Museum is great, as well as the Walker Art Center. I bet SBW knows a lot more of the places than I do! Personally...I'm a fan of our pool at our apartment building...we have two, one indoors, one outdoors!

Sorry, just noticed there was a question directed at me ... things to do, things to do ... personally I hate the MOA but I know a lot of people like it, and I'm going there this week to look for dresses for Witch Baby and me to wear to my sister's wedding. It is the land o' plenty, shopping wise.

There's a toy train store for "real collectors" that my husband used to frequent. I think it's in St. Paul. I can find out if it's still in business if you like.

Minneapolis has many great restaurants, including some of national renown, several museums if you're into that kind of thing, great theather (the Guthrie is only the beginning), and of course moi. :D

We've also got a greenway that goes through most of the city. It's for walking or riding your bike and I've been meaning to give it a try once W.B. learns to ride her bike (she's like me, it's taking her a while ...)

We have lots of lakes, parks, and trees. It's a pretty city. And of course all the usual shopping, movie theaters, and so forth.

We'd love to have you!!! We can't offer a swimming pool but we've always got an extra bed or two, and a lovely historic street in a very nice neighborhood.

NO!!! She's mine!!!!!!!!!! LOL, just kidding. We don't have an extra bed...just a really uncomfortable pull out couch, but we can all get together for a day and spend time around the pool if you make it out here.

I also 2nd SBW on the theatre, Guthrie is amazing, as is the Ordway. I'm going to see RENT in August there! And the food...goodness.

If you manage to make it out during those two weeks before labor day then we also have the Great State Get-Together at the State Fair. You've never been to a real State Fair till you've been to the MN State Fair...it's beyond huge. More food than you can even fathom! Speaking of food, Taste of MN is coming up as well on the 4th of July weekend, I've never gone, but I've heard thats amazing as well.

OK. I'm talking to my husband about Minneapolis.

I have to keep in mind that my daughter is due to have a baby in August and I'm due in California for a week to visit her at the end of September (which is a soon as my husband's schedule will allow and he would very much like to go to California with me.) Yes, I'm wishing I was there RIGHT NOW to talk to her about everything but she's 30 years old and very capable. Besides that, relatives will be coming out of the woodwork to visit her over the next couple of months.

Anyway, I would really love to see Minneapolis. One way or another, I'll figure out how to do it. :bandit: I think it would be great fun.
