    Problems with Body Shop

Hey, I hope that one of you might know the answer to my problems. I have The Sims 2 (with University and Nightlife) for Mac installed on my Apple Powerbook G4... and I have been having some problems running body shop. After I imported all my downloads from my PC-version of the game, body shop loads but the space where the sim is supposed to be standing is completely black, and it crashes when I click on any buttons. I don't believe it is an issue with any of the custom content because (1) it worked perfectly fine on my PC game and (2) it works perfectly fine in the actual game.

I'm pretty upset that it isn't working because I'm really big into creating custom content. (I want to start a site and everything.) I tried installing the TS2 Nightlife for Mac patch that is available from Aspyr, but it didn't help at all. In fact, it made matters worse, for when I tried opening Body Shop, it said that the program was not recognized on my computer! Augh.

What could be causing all this?

Sorry to hear you are in trouble, Erica. I am not Mac savvy but the wholesale transfer of downloads could be the cause of the problem.

Does removing the downloads folder rectify the problem?

If so you should try again with just one or two downloads that are confident of (ones that you know are clothes rather than objects or hacks)

Trust me, I did all that. It works fine with up to 7,000 downloads, but once I go over that it goes black. It doesn't matter which downloads are in the folder, it's just the amount I have. Like I said, it works fine in the game, so it must be a bug in Body Shop. :(

Sounds like an OS-related file problem. Something to take up with Aspyr methinks

    Hi Erica,

I have problems with BodyShop on my PC sometimes, too. It loads slowly and then it doesn't always want to talk to Photoshop.

The way I fix it is to reboot. Then it usually works fine, though I used Shana's machine the other week and realized just how slow mine is! It all comes down to power.

If your cache is full and you don't have a lot of power or available memory BodyShop gets cranky. If you've been on the internet all day or have been using another memory-intensive program it's good to give your 'puter a fresh start.

Don't know if this will help you but I thought I'd let you know how I deal with this.
