Ack! Open For Business Help Needed Quick! Mmk whenever I click on my sims house it says she is at her store. Yet when I go to the store it immediantly goes to building mode. I can't find my sim! And I can't enter her house.
Oops. Did you save and exit without sending her home from the business? I've never done that, not sure if it's allowed, but it may have caused your problem. One way to save her is to play another sim that knows her and have them invite her to move in. I had a sim lost in the ether once and eventually she wandered onto a lot, so I made the lot owner befriend her and invite her to move in. I also had a community lot glitch where one of my sims disappeared upon returning home and I solved it the same way. Good luck. Let us know what happens.
I tried the moving in part but it says please bring her back to her house. Yet I have know way of doing that. Thanks though. Anyone else?
OK Plan B Same scenario but with more muscle Go back to the household you're trying to move your missing sim into and bring up the cheat console [Ctrl]+[Shift]+[C] then type in:- boolProp testingCheatsEnabled true Now Hold down the [Shift] key and click on a playable Sim From the menu that appears choose: Spawn then Tombstone of L and D A tombstone will appear next to the Sim Click that and look for option: Add Neighbor To Household You then have to sift through a very long list of every sim in the neighborhood a dozen at a time, (first names only so you might need to use trial and error if your sim hasn't a unique first name ) When you get the missing sim back you should be able to move her out and back into her "own" home (you'll probably need to use the money cheats to get her finances back on track) Don't forget to turn off the debug cheat when you're done boolProp testingCheatsEnabled false and also delete the Tombstone of L And D (in build/buy mode) You may also want to use the money cheat to restore the money that the move-in/move-out sim takes from the bridging house when she leaves ...
DISCLAIMER: THESE ARE UNTESTED IDEAS. JUST TRYING TO GIVE YOU SOMEWHERE TO START. Have you tried having her marry someone on a different lot? OK, this is a wild idea but it might work: Get the Insiminator. There's a link to it at MTS2. I'm very wary of hacks like this but it's been game tested and has never caused me any problems. Invite the sim to a house with fewer than 8 people living in it. Buy the Insiminator for that lot. Make the sim selectable. You can do that by having another sim click on the "chair" for the insiminator, which looks exactly like the bio machine career reward. The visiting sim will now appear in the icons and you can control her like any other sim on the lot. She's NOT moved in though, just visiting. Now you have some options. You could try "Find own place" but since she's not home not sure how that would work. Worth a try, though. You could try using Pescado's lot debugger to fix what's wrong with her, or you could try "boolprop testingcheatsenabled true" and see what error message you get for her. Post your error message here or at More Awesome than You and someone might be able to help you figure it out. If you have university, change her age to teenager and send her to university from the neighborhood view. I'm not sure exactly where you click on the machine for that, but it can be done. If you can't figure it out I'll look at mine when I get home. She could then drop out and rejoin the neighborhood. It might change your sim's history but she'd be playable again. Again, these are crazy untested ideas but might give you some of your own. Sorry about your sim. That's a weird one. I never leave my sims at their businesses because I was worried something like that might happen. You may just have to give her up for "dead," at least until you figure out how to fix her.
Oooh! Sorry to double post but I just had another idea ... You could try making a new sim and moving them into her house. The house might then become playable. Have the new sim go to the business lot. Try having them both come home! It's kind of crazy but it just might work ...
I'm curious, when you say didn't work, what didn't work? Were you able to spawn the tombstone of L and D? If you were, were you able to add your sim to the household or go through the tasks Mirelly stated? If you were able to do that cheat, then back in the neighborhood view was it like you didn't do anything? Can you be a little more specific and maybe we can help you out more. Make sure you're typing the boolprop cheat exactly like Mirelly stated or it won't work as well.
