Cheat Window Hi, I recently bought the Sims 2 Holiday Edition and the OFB expansion pack, and I have tried to open the cheat box but whenever I press CTRL + Shift + C nothing happens. I thought that a white box was meant to appear in the top left corner. Any help?
Are you in a lot when you try the cheat? You need to be in a lot first. If so, I'm not sure why it isn't working for you, sorry.
No ya don't! I enter it all the time in neighborhood view before I even decide which lot I'm going to play. That way more options are available once you're in the lot. But as far as why it's not working for you...I'm at a loss as well.
Some cheats have to entered in the neighborhood view to take effect. If you are having trouble. Check your keyboard is working properly Start >> Programs >> Accessories >> Notepad Type c hold down [SHIFT] and type it again C then highlight the C by dragging over it and copy it by holding down [Ctrl] and pressing C The move down the Notepad page and paste the C you copied (to make sure that Ctrl+c works) - you can paste by Edit >> Paste Ctrl+V or Right click >> Paste If that all works then you know your keyboard is fully functional and we'll know that you're actually using the right keys (and I'm not being sarcy).
The problem I'm having is that whenever I press CTRL+SHIFT+C the box doesn't appear (the one that I type the cheats into). I don't know if the cheats work yet but if I can get the cheat box to open I'll try.
Check Start >> All Programs for Stardock Cursor XP If you have this installed you its default hot-key is Ctrl+Shift+C :( Go to: Start >> All Programs >> Stardock CursorXP >> Configure CursorXP >> Options and either disable the hot-key or change it to something that isn't going to cause problems (eg Ctrl+Shift+X)
Are you sure you're pressing and holding each key so eventually you have all three depressed at the same time? Or do you let up on each one after pressing them? The first time I used The Sims, that was my biggest problem in trying to bring up the cheat window. (or for that matter, the activity monitor with CTRL-ALT-DEL) Sorry if that wasn't the case. Just wondering since I myself did that. -John
