Feedback From The MN Contingent, Please? Perusing one of my favorite coffee-time websites I found: this It made me wonder if any of you folks from MN know about this sort of malarkey? What really tickles me is the idea that people go around reading the paths ... I mean if the ads were billboard sized (or even just a good metre square -- a sq yard for Minnesotans : ) they would make some sort of sense ...
There are a lot of people with too much time on their hands, but I agree that if you're gong to put something on the sidewalk, to be washed into the river, it ought to be biodegradable. We in MN walk around looking at the ground a lot. It's sad, really.
wow...very, interesting. I hadn't heard of it yet, and I think it's silly! And I'm curious as to why they chose Saint Louis Park over Roseville where the headquarters are located. Perhaps I would have had the chance to see this marvel then as I live in Roseville. I agree with you Mirelly, it is awfully small, I'm surprised they didn't at least make it span the width of the sidewalk. They did say it was spray chalk, maybe they just made a template and made it small so they didn't have to worry about it being too big. And you're also right SBW, it should have been made to be biodegradable.
Yes, I noticed a few of these around town. I kind of liked them - as far as advertising goes. They're a nice change of pace from screaming billboards - plus they have a nice, neighborhood feel to them - kind of subtle and subdued. And I liked the idea of them being so transitory - However, if they end up being more semi-permanent, THAT is not so good! Still, I don't think I'd get my undies in such a bundle as this guy did... LOL SBW - I had to laugh with your last statement...One of my former roommates was always noticing the dust-bunnies on the floor, whilst I was always noticing the cobwebs on the ceiling - I always viewed the difference as how each of us viewed life! She was always looking down, and I was always looking up! I must add that neither of us did much about the dust-bunnies and cobwebs - just noticed them and discussed how we should probably do something about them...
When I went to freshman orientation at the college I'm going to, there were ads for the Dell Student Discount website written on the sidewalk all over campus. It didn't look as neat as those lottery ads but I also found it silly that they had written the website down on the sidewalk so everyone can partake in a discount computer...meh...
Never heard about the ads until just now, because I don't watch much TV. Spend most of my time on the computer and doing other things non-idiot box related.
