    Game Freezes

    Hi

My game installed perfectly, although when i load the game up, it loads the EA part, but then freezes for about 10 minutes, then loads up the splash screen, and freezes for about 5 minutes on there, and i dont know what the cause of this could be, i have tried re-installing, i have also installed the available patches, none of these have worked, i have also updated my graphic drivers and directx, anyone else got any suggestions?

    Thanks

This may sound like a silly question, but how much do you have in your download folder and how fast is your computer (RAM and processor)?

If you have a slow computer or you have a lot in your downloads folder, it can take more than 5 minutes to load the game. I have a humongous downloads folder but a fairly reasonable computer processor, and it often takes me 15 minutes for the game to load. It just takes patiences to load the thing.

There are times when it take several minutes from the time I click on the icon for the game and even the EA screen comes up. It used to freak me out, thinking it wasn't loading, but then the EA screen would come up. Then waiting for the screen with the squares at the top to come up took time, and it seemed to freeze with specific squares or the specific phrases at the bottom. But eventually it does finish loading. (If you hit any key when it's at the EA icon, then the flash scenes don't come up at all. I always hit the space bar because I'm bored with having had the same flash scenes for the past nearly 2 years. I'd rather see the screen with the squares at the top and the words at the bottom.)

Edit: PS: GemmaLouise, please don't make your words bigger or bold/italicize them. It makes it very hard to read. Just use the regular formatting so that the words aren't extra big or extra small. If you want to emphasize a specific word, then just do that one word. And if you are having trouble reading it on *your* screen, change *your* computer so that the words are bigger. Most browsers have a way to make what you see bigger or smaller, without having to make it difficult for others to see it because their browser is already set for the normal size print.

Please don't skimp on the details. 1.6GHz processor could imply almost anything nowadays.
