    A couple questions

I've grown tired of the PS2 Sims 2 and am about to return it to the rental store, and I have 2 questions about the PC version.

    1. How much does TS2 on PC cost? And how much do the Expansion Packs cost (US money)?

    2. What are the 2 best Expansion Packs (I might only have enough $ to get 2)?

    Thanks.

Well I don't know about prices, you could look on ebay or amazon.com for good deals, but I would say buy University and Nightlife, then install in that order, as otherwise you will have problems with your game when you install another EP (it might not even load). Always install EPs in the order they're released, I'm pretty sure this includes the 'Fun Packs' like the christmas and family fun stuff add ons.

I added the Christmas pack just after I installed University, and I haven't had any problems... Haha, famous last words Alison...

In answer to #1 I'd do a search of (reliable) sites that sell games. You can judge prices by starting with the EA games store, but then move out from there.

I would recommend not buying the game from eBay. I'm sure I've read in threads in this forum that these games come with problems, specifically language problems. I could be wrong but I'd sure be careful about what I get from eBay.

As for #2, it is better to install EPs in order of release. More than that, however, the Uni EP offers several more careers to the Sims. The NightLife EP gives you cars to drive, a whole new downtown to visit or live in, vampires and zombies, more interesting interactions between sims, and the ability to see the neighborhood from within a lot (major advance as far as I'm concerned since all my story pictures rely heavily on that feature.)

Usually in retail stores they sell the games for $30 or less. As for what expansions to get, let's just say OFB is my least favorite of the three out right now, and I've used Uni and NL the most.

Thanks everyone! And I just thought of another question, on the PC version is there a way to get rid of ghosts? Are the exorcisms or something? Personally I kind of like the sims aging better than Aspirations (barely) and I would let my sims die to make way for the next generation, but I want them die. Not hang around forever puking on my sims when I'm trying to get them in a good mood. Is there anyway to get rid of them? Or in an EP maybe?

All you have to do to get rid of ghosts is sell the tombstone/urn (or move it to a community lot, if you have Nightlife).

Thanks! And are the EA Store prices the same as at the store?

Do you have a telephone, SimScape? Primitive, I know, but it's handy if you want to call a store. :D

I know, but I'd have to find my telephone book to do that, and my internet was already up. I doubt they would go over the price on ea.com (basically the maximum price there), so I'll just take $100 down to Wal-Mart or something and probably get them.

    Just $100... I'm funny...

With $100 AUD I was able to buy TS2 and Uni, plus 2 large pizzas, 1.5 L softdrink, and dippy garlic bread.

And if I had waited a bit longer, I could have bought Nightlife as well.

(In case you were wondering, there was a special deal on at Pizza Hut. $40 for the food and the game, which was pretty good since TS2 was selling at about $90 at the time. Then, a few days after I bought Uni, they have another deal, this time it's Uni and the food...

Some places to consider for buying also includes

    www.amazon.com
    www.gamestop.com

Those places usually have free shipping and prices are generally sometimes lower than places than Walmart

    <offtopic>Don't Buy from Wal-Mart!! They are ebil!</offtopic>

Oh yeah! I forgot about them... They do usually have lower prices. Yeah I'll check them too. Oh, and, this is completely off topic, but it's true. I returned TS2 for PS2 and even though it was only about half of the PC version, when I tried to play TS1 it was unbearable. Even the the PS2 version (since it only had about half of the new stuff, I call it The Sims 1.5) is better than TS1. It was just... Ugh...
