Problems with skin tones I'm going into body shop and trying to make a new skin tone from some custom content, but when I select a skin tone to edit, the front part of the male adult face won't show up in the folder (the .bmp file). In body shop the front part of the adult male face looks like the default sims 2 pale skin tone. So I went and tried to make a new skin tone from a maxis created one (the pale one) and I couldn't find the .bmp file to edit it either. What's wrong, and how can I fix it? (My process, if it may help) -open bodyshop -click create parts -start new project -create genetics -skin tone -select maxis skin -name the project and export -go into my projects folder and look for textures edit: I've found out the darker skin tone will export the face texture and work just fine... why isn't the pale one working I wonder?
Thankyou for explaining your work flow so nicely. It really helps. That's odd. I've not run into that problem before. You should find "amface~face~stdMatBaseTextureName.bmp" in there. That is supposed to be the "adult male" face. (I went to my projects file and found that on my "pale" Maxis skintone.) Have you accidently changed the default Skintones with a custom skintone? Some of the sites which have skintones have ones that automatically change them to the Maxis ones to their skintone.
That may be the case, but if it did happen I wasn't aware of it. All of the maxis skin tones look like they're supposed to. Hmm, well that file isn't there for certain. So I tried putting one in my project folder, and it still doesn't load in body shop.
The projects need to be generated by the game. You can't just add one in and have it load. The program doesn't recognize it if it wasn't part of the package. If you have any other skintones in your downloads folder, you may want to try removing them before you open BodyShop and see if that makes any difference.
