Something strange has happened I bought my Imac G5 November 2004 and have been playing Sims 2 on it since then with no problems. I even have both University and Nightlife and played them both fine in the past months with no issues whatsoever. Last Saturday, I moved to a new apartment and moved my computer to the new place. It went right back in it's box and rode with me in my car to the new place, not in the moving truck or anything like that. I take really good care of my baby. Well, since OFB is coming out this week, I got excited about my preorder and decided to play some Sims. However, the game won't play. It begins to load, then crashes and goes back to the desktop screen. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game and expansion packs 4 times, but have had no luck. After I install the Sims 2, I can get it play, but there is no sound. Then after I try installing University, it just crashes. The computer is working fine, and runs the internet and other programs like Photoshop just fine. It isn't even a year old and isn't causing me any other problems. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may be the problem? I really appreciate any help!
Sorry, I haven't the slightest idea if this would do anything, but it can't hurt to try. Have you repaired persmissions and whatnot? -John
You scratched it You scratched the cd that happend to me and I had to buy a new copy. The Sims doesn't react well to scratchs
Before we go on accusing people of scratching it, let's give them the benefit of the doubt. It may well be scratched, but let's assume that--until that could be confirmed--it's not. -John
