    Sims 2 Requirements and Laptops

I have just about had it. I am shopping for a new computer and embarrassingly:eek: the main reason why I want to buy a new computer is so that I can keep stuffing my computer with more and more sims 2 EPs and downloads (thats a shame:rolleyes: ). I am not interested in upgrading my computer because I want something new. I am confused as to if I should get a laptop or a desktop. Can a laptop efficiently run the sims 2 and EPs? I know that there are benefits to having a laptop because it offers mobility, but I am not going to buy one if it can't run the sims 2. Also, I was considering buying both a laptop and a desktop. A desktop for playing the sims 2 and a laptop for taking notes in class and giving powerpoint presentations on campus. Does it make sense to buy both or is there a top of the line notebook that is my best option. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Always try to use a desktop for playing games. (Note: you can still play solitaire and pinball on a laptop)

Laptops are slower, have less hard drive capacity, less memory and so on.

I would suggest that maybe you could upgrade your desktop and buy a basic laptop. Laptops are good for word processing and playing solitaire while your boss isn't watching.

Post up your desktop specs and we'll try to suggest some upgrades you could make.

My laptop is a Toshiba M-45 series, and not top of the line by any standards, but it plays the sims 2 and all of it's expansions just fine. It's a little slow, but that's to be expected. I guess it just depends on what kind of performance you are expecting, but I am not at all dissapointed by my laptop. It cost me just under $1000 dollars last Christmas, so if you can afford to pay more than that I imagine you'd get even better preformance out of it than I get out of mine. :)

I run the Sims 2 excellently on my laptop, I rarely have problems with it. It's VERY fast and looks great, it's a DELL LATITUDE D620. Beacause it has Intel Centrino Duo Processer it's ver fast and has over 5 times the ammount of RAM required to run The Sims 2. I was in the same possition as you, I wanted a computer just for running The Sims 2 (I should get a life, I know :) he he) I took a risk and bought this Laptop and have never looked back!!

    Its cost €1200
Which, I'm guessing is about $1350
    Go For It!!
